All the cars are now on the rope simultaneously. In the next weeks a 7 day full capacity test will commence. The test will demonstrate operation at rate equivalent to 100 kton per month operation

The KUKA Lion ropeway in Steelpoort is coming to life! The ropeway is in the commissioning process. Each car will carry 2 tons of chrome ore 16 km from the mine to the smelter. The car glides over the bosveld landscape at 5km per hour. The project will move 120 kton per year, removing loads from South Africa's roads.

The Kuka Lion ropeway passes low to the ground to avoid eskom High voltage power lines. Full capacity operation of 120kton per annum is expected for end of August 2024. The car is loaded with 2 ton of ore.
