Kerstin Dittmar, L2 Point’s Founder and Managing Partner, sat down with Bloomberg’s Sonali Basak to discuss the close of L2 Point’s inaugural fund, the attractiveness of structured equity as an alternative capital solution, how growth stage companies are navigating valuation resets and a stalled IPO market, and more. “Structured equity is meant to offer growth companies an alternative cost of capital solution that is less dilutive and less costly than traditional growth equity, but also doesn’t come with the operational restrictions and lack of upside alignment that traditional debt products offer,” Kerstin commented. On September 20th, I had the honor of chairing the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital’s Miracles on the Bay Gala. We raised over $1 million for the life-saving mission of St Jude and have raised over $7 million since I launched the event in 2012. I am thankful that my former team at Sixth Street supported my philanthropic efforts early in my career – it allowed me and my Co-Chair Sandra Rutova to build this gala into the magical event it is today. This year, I had the joy of sharing the evening with my L2 Point team and their families, and I hope the event inspired and encouraged them to pursue their own philanthropic interests. At L2 Point, we have committed to donating 5% of our carried interest to charitable causes in an effort to align our success with a positive impact on our communities – and I can’t wait to see the causes our team members will champion over the coming years. I am also thankful that we were able to share the evening with our partners at PJT Partners Park Hill, MPowered Capital, Gen II Fund Services, KPMG, Aspen HR, and Vinson & Elkins who are helping us as we build our firm. It is wonderful to know that we are not only working with great firms, but also with truly good people!
