  • This year our Latino Giving Circle Network reached a historic milestone! With our members, we’ve been able to invest over $3 MILLION into Latino nonprofits across California! 🥳 This achievement is a testament to our LGCN’s collective power and the dedication of our members who have leveraged their roles—whether at foundations, corporations, or their own small businesses—to expand this movement beyond what we could have ever dreamed! 2024 was an exciting year for reaching new members, engaging new communities, and expanding to Arizona and Nevada. The expansion of our movement proves that when we come together with a shared purpose, we can do anything! Help us continue to grow this movement! Join our Latino Giving Circle Network and refer a friend, family member, or colleague to join us! Visit bit.ly/LGCNmilestone to read our latest Nuestra Voz blog celebrating this important milestone!

  • 🌟 LCF Latino Nonprofit Accelerator Spotlight 🌟 : Coming together to care for one another was the spark from which Imperial Valley Equity & Justice Coalition was born! In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, their founding team of proud Calexicans came together in a massive volunteer-run effort to protect families and farmworkers amid the highest COVID rates in the state. That focus on healing, love, and leading with authenticity remains core to how they achieve their mission. IVEJC’s distinctive approach combines advocacy, community organizing, and mutual aid, allowing them to address both structural injustice and basic needs in the communities they serve. IV Equity is an intergenerational, volunteer-driven organization of community members who advocate for greater representation, health equity, protecting the environment, and justice for all people. They activate people in Calexico and across the Valley to collectively reclaim their power and shape the future of their communities! In their first four years, IVEJC has secured $7 million in relief funding to revitalize downtown Calexico, upgrade local parks and public facilities, and invest in equitable projects. The Latino Community Foundation is proud to support our accelerator participants as they lead a public engagement process around development proposals for the Salton Sea and Lithium Valley! Learn more about IVEJC’s incredible work by following them on LinkedIn! 🎨 IG: @Takito.11

  • LCF Team Member Spotlight: This #GivingTuesday we're shining a spotlight on Anais Amaya, our Latino Giving Circle Network Director! Anais is a builder of partnerships and community programs who believes in challenging communities to break cycles of generational poverty. In her position as LGCN Director, Anais supports the strategic growth of LCF’s Latino Giving Circles in California as well as our recent expansion to Arizona and Nevada! Before joining LCF, she was the recipient of the Heroes and Hearts Award by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation in recognition of her work as the program manager of the ZSFG Health Advocates. During her tenure, Anais built a health career pipeline program to increase diversity in the healthcare workforce by providing mentorship, leadership development, and career exposure to local students of color. Anais holds a Bachelor’s in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley where she learned about the inequitable access to resources that underserved communities face. In her downtime, she likes to stay active and go to baseball games with her son. One of our favorite fun facts about Anais is that she taught herself to play the accordion! 🪗

  • What an unforgettable Fireside Chat with Julián Castro, our CEO, and Greg Behrman, Founder & CEO of NationSwell!   This meaningful discussion shed light on the intersection of economic mobility and social equity, focusing on how we can build inclusive, thriving communities. We are grateful to have heard powerful insights from these two leaders on linking public policy, private sector innovation, philanthropic investment, and community assets into comprehensive solutions that work for everyone.   In the words of our CEO: "We have an opportunity in this moment to model what we want the world to look like and recommit ourselves to that vision."   Thank you to everyone who joined us for this important conversation. Together, we can create equitable opportunities and a brighter future for all communities!
