Southern California Edison was sued for negligence on Jan. 13 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County in relation to the devastating Eaton Fire that began on Jan. 7 and has destroyed thousands of homes and businesses. The lawsuit, filed by Baron & Budd; Ellis Riccobono; and Diab Chambers, accuses the defendant of failing to properly inspect and maintain their electrical power lines, utility poles and related equipment and to keep vegetation and trees trimmed and at a safe distance from the electrical equipment. #LawdotcomRadar https://lnkd.in/gcjsFimd

Jurors hit Monsanto with a $100 million award this month in Seattle over PCBs in a school’s fluorescent light ballasts and caulk. Texas's AG is taking on a major insurance company, accusing it of conspiring to collect and sell device data without owners' consent. Greg Ewing of Dickinson Wright, a Washington, D.C., cyber security and technology lawyer, told reporter Emily Cousins it's likely other insurance providers could face similar litigation.
