We're celebrating #BrewMonday and taking a moment to think of some small (but lovely) things you could try today. Thanks to the Samaritans for calling out the myth of blue Monday and instead sharing some positivity. So why not start a conversation over a brew! Reach out and connect with family, friends, colleagues and loved ones. If you don't have time today then book in time to meet up face to face later in the week (it can be #BrewMonday everyday!) We've done a bit of asking around and here are some other small (but lovely) things to try today or any other day: 🕺 Give yourself permission to do frivolous things you enjoy. Looking at lovely houses in warm places on Rightmove, or cranking up the music and dancing round the kitchen, or doing a jigsaw puzzle. 👍 Do something nice for someone else. Or 'pay it forward' if someone does something nice for you. 🧘♀️ Five or ten minutes stretching each morning will help you start the day feeling that you’ve done something nice for your body. You can even do the stretches in bed if it feels too cold to do them as soon as you get you up! 🍃 Spend some time outdoors. The days are getting noticeably longer so get outside first thing in the morning for a quick walk. 📖 Read a book for 30 mins before bed rather than doom scrolling on your phone (if you don't get too sleepy) You might also like our top tips for wellbeing - https://lnkd.in/eaiHBzYW or how to take a mindful walk - https://lnkd.in/ea4ddy-s If today isn't a good day for you then please get in touch with us. You can talk to us about anything that is worrying you at work or at home. No issue is too small, in fact we'd much rather hear from you before it becomes a big problem. ☎️ Call our helpline on 0800 279 6888, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can also email support@lawcare.org.uk or use our online chat which is available whenever you see the red 'Chat Online' button on our website - www.lawcare.org.uk #MentalHealthMatters #Wellbeing #LegalSector #Law

I know… we say it every year but we just need to remind you that Blue Monday was in fact made up by a travel company to sell more holidays 🥲 Depression doesn't care what day it is. If you're feeling low, we're here for you. Link in the comments to find info and support 💙

Blue Monday isn’t real, don’t believe the hype you see today! This so-called ‘most depressing day of the year’ is a myth created in 2005 by a travel company to sell holidays. No science, no truth – just a marketing gimmick, and it feeds unhelpful stereotypes about mental health. We’ve got absolutely no time for it! So help us make space for something better and join us for ✨Brew Monday✨ instead. Our bad days aren’t for the calendar to decide, and our mental health doesn’t fit neatly into the calendar. But checking in with our friends, family, colleagues and having a proper chat can make a real difference. Share this post and help us show that being there for each other beats a marketing gimmick, any day of the year!

🚀 Crises and catalysts: What’s Life in the Law like in 2025?🚀 The latest edition of our newsletter is out now. This week, we launched two major surveys on mental health and wellbeing in the legal sector. In this edition, Dr.Emma Jones (Academic Lead on the surveys) explores key developments in legal wellbeing over recent years and breaks down the what, why, and how of these surveys. "Life in the Law 2025 gives the opportunity for LawCare to obtain a snapshot of what post-Covid practices look like in the legal sector. As well as exploring how they are impacting upon individuals and their career plans, and the priorities and strategies of organisations within law." We’re thrilled to launch our Life in the Law 2025 research and we want to invite you to take part. 👉 Survey for individuals working in the legal sector: https://lnkd.in/ecbQJXGS 👉 Survey for organisations, including law firms, chambers and in-house legal departments: https://lnkd.in/eM3neY3k The surveys are anonymous, take 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and are open to anyone working in the legal sector in the UK, Jersey, Guernsey, or the Isle of Man. Life in the Law 2025 is an important opportunity to find solutions to improve mental health and wellbeing in the legal sector. 📢 The research will help us understand why people in our sector may be experiencing poor mental health and what practical steps organisations and individuals can take to prevent this. 📢 By sharing your experiences, you’re contributing to building a more supportive and healthier working environment for the future. The surveys close on Friday 21 March, and the findings, along with evidence-based recommendations on the practical steps organisations and individuals can take to support mental health in the workplace, will be shared in October 2025. 🙏 Please take part and ask your colleagues to do the same. Your voice adds strength to the findings. The research isn’t just about data. It’s about people in our sector: their experiences, challenges, and successes. Your insights - whether as an individual navigating the challenges of legal work or as part of an organisation striving to support colleagues - are vital. The surveys are confidential, which means your answers will remain anonymous. Your participation is crucial to the development of practical, evidence-based recommendations that will lead to improvements in working practices to better support mental health. An easy way to help is by spreading the word. Simply like and share this post. There are also resources on the LawCare website: https://lnkd.in/eGXcgntz Each of us can play a part in building a healthier future in law.
