Preparing High Performing Executives for Nonprofit Board Service
About us
Welcome to Leadership After Dark, where corporate, community, and individual Non-profit/Social Impact servant leadership intersects. We believe... Every seat on a nonprofit/Social impact board is priceless. Every community seeks high performing volunteers to serve on their board Every company can create a ripple effect of positive change in their community through their associates Our extensive expertise serving, building, and renovating boards, revealed a few core challenges. First, Nonprofit/Social Impact organizations struggle to build strong boards of high performing members. Second, corporations seek ways to increase the value of their community presence. Also, seek ways to retain and grow their talent. Finally, individuals seek to balance work and life demands to enhance their personal growth and their community's well-being. Leadership After Dark addresses these challenges through an internal company sponsored, civic leadership professional development program. A customized curriculum, unique interactive learning, and comprehensive community connections are the foundations of the program. We prepare identified purpose driven leaders to drive good within the communities they serve. We align corporate core values with the organizations they support to sustain a long-term, impact driven relationship. We provide the community with high performing civic leadership who can contribute on day one! Our unique program impacts the companies we serve by providing insight into the impact of their philanthropic support, improved brand awareness, top talent retention, and commitment to the community. The community benefits through stronger support organizations, companies that support the community needs, and more intentional use of philanthropic support. The associates benefit through personal growth, purposeful service, pride in the company, and connection to the community.

Benefits of Board service that come my way? Really? How so? Glad you asked. Mahatma Ghandi reminded us - "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." I've met people from across the world I would not have met had it not been for serving on a Board. I've learned lessons about business from industry icons because I served on a Board. I've strengthened my professional sphere of influence because I served on a Board. And I was humbled in so many ways as I walked alongside those so much more courageous than I will ever be who work tirelessly to end the cycles of generational poverty incarceration addiction homelessness unemployment domestic abuse hunger illiteracy because I served on a Board. At Leadership After Dark, we believe every Board seat is priceless because of the impact you can have on an organization AND ALSO because of the incredible journey ahead of you meeting new people, developing new skills, and doing good in ways you never thought possible.
