The Lestonnac Free Clinic in Orange County, California, is making history with the nation’s first surgery center operated by a free clinic. Starting in 2025, it will offer life-changing procedures like hernia repairs, cataract surgeries, and colonoscopies at no cost to uninsured patients. With over 3,000 patients already on the waiting list, the 4,000-square-foot facility was made possible by a $3.5 million donation and dedicated support from volunteers and community partners. As we close another year, we want to express our deepest gratitude for YOUR partnership. In 2024, we witnessed remarkable stories of healing and hope. From critical dental restorations to lifesaving medical interventions, your support has addressed physical needs, restored dignity and offered hope to many. Because of YOU, individuals and families facing significant barriers to healthcare received the care they desperately needed. We wish you and yours the all the beauty of this magical holiday season. Here are just a few of the magical staff and volunteers who are the boots on the ground. They help to transform the lives of over 12,000 patients annually, giving the gift of health and healing all year long. Although we were unable to put on our annual children's Christmas party this year due to the surgery center construction, The Orange Fire Department generously donated 300 toys to our patients whose children will have a merrier Christmas with the gift of their choice. Last evening was Lestonnac’s final and 46th health fair of 2024! In addition to operating 14 clinic locations and mobile sites along with constructing a new surgery center, we still make sure to bridge service gaps and remove transportation barriers within the local community by committing to a very full health fair schedule. In the month of December at our 3 health fairs we focused on vision, providing a total of 285 visits, dispensing over 360 pairs of glasses on the spot, and rendering over $100,000 in services, free of charge.
