Five major wildfires have burned over 35,000 acres in Los Angeles County, resulting in 10 fatalities, the destruction of nearly 10,000 structures, and the evacuation of 200,000 residents. Hazardous conditions like poor air quality and boil water notices are leaving families without safe drinking water due to ash, debris, and contamination risks. LifeStraw is partnering with responding organizations and grassroots teams to distribute water filters and purifiers to those affected. Safe water access is critical in the aftermath of disasters like this. Your donation to LifeStraw’s Safe Water Fund will help us: - Deliver water filters and purifiers to impacted areas - Partner with local nonprofits to reach those in need - Ensure families have safe water during power outages and water system failures 100% of donated funds go toward the cost of products and distribution. Join us in providing life-saving resources to those impacted by the Los Angeles fires: https://lnkd.in/gruepH8P

Today, we celebrate the extraordinary life and leadership of President Jimmy Carter, a visionary who inspired global action to improve lives and tackle humanity’s most pressing challenges. His tireless dedication to eradicating Guinea worm disease—a mission LifeStraw has proudly supported since 1994—serves as a shining example of what bold leadership and practical solutions can achieve. Through our partnership with The Carter Center, Vestergaard and LifeStraw has provided over 40 million LifeStraw Guinea worm filters, contributing to a reduction in cases from millions annually to just 7 globally in 2024. This monumental achievement, set to be the first disease eradicated without the use of a vaccine, reflects President Carter’s belief in the power of collaboration, innovation, and compassion. His legacy continues to inspire us at LifeStraw as we strive to provide safe water for all and honor his vision of a better world.

At LifeStraw, we’ve always been about more than water filters. Through our Give Back Program, we’ve provided safe drinking water to more than 10 million school children worldwide. Through our work in schools in Western Kenya, we uncovered another critical barrier to health, safety, and education: lack of access to menstrual care. Girls in these communities often miss school during their periods because they lack menstrual products. For some, this challenge leads to devastating consequences such as increased vulnerability to exploitation, early pregnancies, and sexually transmitted diseases. This limits their ability to complete their education and impacts their future educational and professional opportunities. That’s why we launched SafiCycle in 2023. This program is our solution to menstrual equity, providing reusable Period panties and comprehensive menstrual education. Since the launch of the program, we’ve distributed 6,999 period panties to 1,756 girls across six regions in Kenya. For many, these were their only menstrual products. We’ve also taught girls how to use and care for their Period panties, while boys and men learn to break the stigma around menstruation. The results have been life changing. With SafiCycle, girls are staying in school, gaining confidence, and reclaiming their futures. This holiday season, you can help us reach 3,000 more girls in 2025 with the tools and education they need to stay safe, healthy, and in school. A $35 donation to SafiCycle provides one girl with a year of safe and reusable menstrual care products. By contributing, you’re doing more than donating; you’re investing in dignity, education, and opportunity for girls who deserve a fair chance to succeed. Together, we can break down barriers and build brighter futures for girls in Kenya. Thank you for your continued support of LifeStraw and our mission to transform lives. https://lnkd.in/eUN63gTG

Today is International Migrants Day, a day to honor the resilience, courage, and contributions of individuals starting new lives in unfamiliar places. On Friday, December 6th, LifeStraw staff joined Global Refuge at their annual Hope for the Holidays event, packing kits and writing cards for their Fresh Change program. These kits — which include a fresh change of clothes, hygiene items, and a LifeStraw Go bottle — provide more than essentials. They deliver dignity, compassion, and a warm welcome. Since Giving Tuesday, we’ve contributed: 500 LifeStraw Personal Water Filters 122 LifeStraw Go Bottles 25 Home Pitchers 436 articles of clothing, including sweatshirts, sweatpants, hats, underwear, and backpacks These contributions are helping Global Refuge provide vital support at their Welcome Center in Baltimore, through their international Camino a Casa program, and across the U.S. with the Fresh Change initiative. For 85 years, Global Refuge has been a leader in resettlement, creating a “long welcome” for immigrants and refugees. Since 1939, they have supported more than 750,000 individuals through advocacy, care, and empowerment to restore a sense of home. At LifeStraw, we believe that safe drinking water is a human right and that every person deserves dignity and respect. Today, on International Migrants Day, we’re proud to stand with Global Refuge as a new partner, continuing our support this holiday season. This Giving Tuesday, LifeStraw is partnering with Global Refuge, a Baltimore-based nonprofit serving newcomers seeking safety, support, and the foundations they need to begin again in their new communities. LifeStraw is donating Home Pitchers and Personal Straws, fresh clothing and school supplies, and all the funds raised through this campaign to Global Refuge. At LifeStraw, we believe every person deserves access to safe drinking water and that every person deserves dignity and respect. We place the health and wellbeing of families and communities at the center of our work, and we invite you to join us in our campaign to support our newest neighbors. Global Refuge has been a leader in resettlement for 85 years, dedicated to the “long welcome” — supporting immigrants and refugees through advocacy, care, and empowerment to restore a sense of home. They have welcomed more than 750,000 newcomers since 1939. Each year, hundreds of thousands of adults and children from Guatemala and Mexico attempt to migrate to the United States, driven by poverty, instability, and violence. Unfortunately, under current U.S. immigration law, many are quickly returned to their home country. But Global Refuge believes that a better life is still possible—especially for children and young adults. Through compassionate individualized support, their Camino a Casa repatriation program helps youth achieve their goals and build a brighter future at home. The Baltimore Welcome Center serves as a one-stop shop for newcomers—a place where families can walk in the door and immediately have access to the support they need, from career development to medical and mental healthcare. The Center provides a next level of service, offering protection-centered and trauma-informed case management, and connections to essential community resources. Please consider donating this holiday season to support Global Refuge's work. https://lnkd.in/ekQjzerc

In early October, the LifeStraw team arrived in Western North Carolina to help communities hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Over the weeks that followed, we worked with local organizations and communities to make sure folks have access to safe drinking water as they work to repair the wells, springs, and water treatment facilities that provide water across the region. Thanks to your generous donations + LifeStraw’s commitment, the team and our partners distributed more than $200,000 in water filters + purifier products, providing safe water to an estimated 25,000 people a day. We brought filters and purifiers that matched the needs of the people of North Carolina – our high-volume Community and Max purifiers for group settings, Home pitchers and dispensers for families, and Go bottles or personal filters for outreach teams and rescue efforts. The team worked with local teams of first responders, supported school distribution points and community feeding operations, and worked with local nonprofit organizations that provide specialized care and social services across the region. We also provided filters and purifiers for community and mobile health care teams operated by Mountain Community Health Partnership and International Medical Corps. Every community we visited, every organization we supported, and every individual we met we heard incredible stories of strength and resilience. We are proud to serve the people of North Carolina as they come together to rebuild.

This certification represents our ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and actively participating in the fight against climate change through projects like reforestation and renewable energy. Thank you to our partners The Change Climate Project and to our incredible community for supporting us.
I’m thrilled to share that LifeStraw has once again been Climate Neutral Certified by the The Change Climate Project! This marks the fifth consecutive year (starting in 2020) that we’ve met these rigorous standards, and I couldn’t be prouder to work with an organization with such a firm commitment to climate action. This certification isn’t just a badge—it’s a testament to LifeStraw’s dedication to minimizing our environmental footprint and taking real action against climate change. It means we’re committed to measuring, reducing, and offsetting 100% of our carbon emissions through impactful projects like reforestation, renewable energy, and other sustainable initiatives. For LifeStraw, sustainability goes hand-in-hand with our mission to provide safe water solutions to communities around the world. That’s why I’m proud of the work that we do to constantly improve our processes, partner with forward-thinking climate projects, and hold ourselves accountable towards making a difference.
