We're in business to save our home planet.

About us

Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is an outdoor apparel company based in Ventura, California. A certified B-Corporation, Patagonia’s mission is to save our home planet. The company is recognized internationally for its commitment to authentic product quality and environmental activism, donating 1% of sales annually, contributing over $100 million in grants and in-kind donations since 1985. We’re always looking for motivated people to join us in our retail stores; at our Ventura, California headquarters; Reno, Nevada Service Center; and occasionally in our overseas offices. We’re especially interested if you love spending as much time as possible in the mountains or the wild, feel more at home in a base camp or on the river than an office, and have a passion for something outside of yourself, whether for surfing or opera, climbing or gardening, skiing or community activism. Last week, we hosted a livestream to explore a critical question: Why is quality an environmental and social issue?   Throughout the evening, we heard from environmentalists, scientists, researchers, and product experts, who helped us unpack the high stakes of low quality. Together, we discussed the psychology behind overconsumption, the supply chain, and what it truly means to build products that are simple, multifunctional, repairable, and made to last.   Here are some key takeaways from the discussion: 1. A healthy planet and a flourishing economy demand a more responsible approach to consumption. 2. The challenges we face can only be fixed through collaboration across industries. 3. Governments must step up to regulate the apparel industry, ensuring higher standards and accountability in how we do business. Missed the livestream? You can watch the full recording below. We’d love to hear your thoughts: Can “less” genuinely lead to “more”? How do we build a fairer, more just, and responsible way to do business together? https://lnkd.in/eqUNZHqi Photos by: Emrik Jansson

We're coming to Munich for a one-day pop-up shop giving pre-loved gear a second life Our clothing is built to last, but sometimes that’s longer than a person has use for it. So, on November 23, we’re hosting a one-day pop-up store in Munich to give pre-loved gear a second life—selling used, repaired, and one-of-a-kind Patagonia pieces ready for their next adventure. We’ll be operating on a one item per person, first come, first served basis, and all proceeds from the day will go to local non-profit organisations.

A one-day pop-up shop giving pre-loved gear a second life. Our clothing is built to last, but sometimes that’s longer than a person has use for it. So, on November 16, we’re hosting a one-day pop-up store in Stockholm to give pre-loved gear a second life—selling used, repaired, and one-of-a-kind Patagonia pieces ready for their next adventure. Why is quality an environmental issue? An evening of expert talks, film screenings, and more. A healthy planet (and economy) needs a better model than buying and selling more and more things people don’t need. But can less truly mean more? With help from environmentalists, scientists, psychologists and product experts, we’ll come together for an evening of discussions and film screenings to unpick the issue of quality—exploring humanity’s destructive addiction to cheap crap and how we might begin to save ourselves from… ourselves. Sign up for the livestream below. Host: Keme Nzerem, Musical performance & Keynote: Nicolas Favresse Panel Guests: Wendy Barahona Savage, August Bard Bringéus, Jakob Broman, Karin M. Ekström.

“At Patagonia, our purpose is ‘We’re in business to save our home planet,’ and we’re really serious about that. And we also feel we need to use all the tools in the toolbox to save our home planet, and that includes electing leaders who share our sense of urgency in addressing this crisis.”    Listen to K. Corley Kenna's interview on why Patagonia prioritizes civic engagement and why we have closed our doors since 2016 on Election Day to help our employees get out the vote. https://lnkd.in/gaf98PGf

“Frankly, we’re running out of time for saving the natural world. If there was ever a moment for a Hail Mary pass in conservation, I think this is it.” Kris Tompkins, our first CEO, took to the TED stage to speak about her life’s work with Tompkins Conservation, the beauty of seeing once-degraded landscapes flourish again and share a new revolutionary vision to restore a continent.
