  • This Saturday, November 9th, is National Lung Cancer Screening Day! Did you know that lung cancer screening is the most effective screening method to reduce cancer mortality? Did you know that lung cancer treatment is highly effective, especially if the lung cancer is caught early? One of the largest barriers to getting people to get their lungs screened for lung cancer is the stigma surrounding lung cancer. Little Red Door understands and emphasizes that no one, no matter what, deserves cancer. Those who smoke or who have smoked should not feel guilty or ashamed of their smoking habits. We support you in your efforts to get screened - without judgement. Local screening centers have been asked to remain open on Saturday so that more people don't have to take off work to get screened. You can discuss your screening eligibility with your doctor. We encourage anyone who is eligible to get screened. Are you curious about lung cancer screening or want help with information? Call us Monday-Friday at (317) 925-5595 for judgement free support.

  • Yesterday, Little Red Door welcomed many friends from Eli Lilly and Company for their annual Lilly Global Day of Service! There were three different groups of Lilly volunteers who put together no-sew fleece blankets for newly diagnosed cancer patients. Prior to Lilly Global Day of Service, we were running low on completed blankets, but our friends from Lilly came in and swiftly got us back in stock (check out those before and after photos)! Collectively, they measured, cut, and assembled 236 blankets that will soon provide comfort and warmth to Hoosiers facing cancer. Thank you, Lilly, and all our amazing volunteers from today for joining us in making the most of life and the least of cancer for those in our community! #LillyGlobalDayofService #EliLilly #EliLillyandCompany
