Set up by a Suffolk-based Insurance businessman who observed first-hand the challenges faced by independent businesses during the lockdown, particularly in terms of insufficient support and infrastructure. He identified that improved communication channels among business owners and professionals could have not only strengthened operational resilience but could have prevented a number of closures. Additionally, Luke emphasised the benefits of increased collaboration among local businesses and access to expert advice, underlining the considerable positive impact such measures could exert on the broader local business community in East Anglia. Lockdowns showed how important local businesses are to the consumers . It's also highlighted the need for local businesses to work together and for easier access to information and support. The initiative aims to address the lack of legal services in Hadleigh for wills, family law, probate, conveyancing and more for the local community which values face-to-face communication over tech-driven customer service. Bates Wells and Braithwaite, based in Ipswich, is a long-established Suffolk law firm known for its traditional values and commitment to personal, face-to-face legal support. The firm will be offering free 30-minute consultations once a week over the next 12 weeks (excluding the Christmas Eve and reduced hours of 10am – 2pm on 31st December) in a private room in Hadleigh library, with the first session set for Tuesday, 19th at 10 am until 4pm. The first day will be drop ins only – thereafter the mornings will be appointments and afternoon for drop ins.
