Today is Substitute Educators Day! Subs are a vital part of the Loudoun County Public Schools community, and we're always looking to add dedicated professionals to our incredible team. To give you a closer look at what being a substitute in our division is really like, we spent the day shadowing four amazing subs. While no two days are alike, we aim to ensure that every substitute feels valued and supported in whatever role they take on. Jessica Andrade, a long-term substitute at Frederick Douglass Elementary, shares that one of the highlights of her job is the opportunity to experience a variety of roles. “I've subbed in different grades, core subject classes, EL, ASL and Spanish. I've even subbed as a counselor and secretary! Subbing in all these different positions has taught me so much, and I've gained a tremendous amount of experience.” Many thanks to Ms. Andrade, Ms. Dean, Ms. Hilt and Ms. Land for allowing us to follow along as they make a difference in students’ lives!
