Globally, women juggle too many tasks with too little time, often bearing the brunt of caregiving responsibilities. This imbalance can negatively impact their careers, hindering their professional growth. Employers have a key role to play in reducing the “time poverty” women face. By taking steps like investing in childcare support for their employees and embracing a nontraditional work schedule, employers won’t just help women: They will stimulate economic growth for households, communities, and economies. Gosh behavior change can be complicated, but every now and then you land on a simple, inexpensive solution. Our latest one is a pill case keychain drawing on a health communication tool called the B-OK bead bottles. (For a quick B-OK overview, go to https://lnkd.in/dBRqmJHZ.) The black beads represent healthy cells; the red beads represent HIV. The black bottle with one red bead represents viral suppression. We gave these out to men as a ‘talisman’ to help them feel good about their HIV treatment, a reminder to take it, and a way to stay adherent even when they're not at home. 99% of men liked it, 93% used it, 93% said it had helped them stay adherent, and 99% said they planned to use it in the future. We also got some great qualitative feedback: "For me, it’s a big reminder. When it’s 8, it’s already on me when I go, on my jeans. Before that I used to default, maybe I would go and drink and then I forget." "This holder, it motivates me so that the virus disappears…You know, so that my body is just [thumbs up sign]." "They once asked me, and I explained that my life is inside that thing." People generally want to do the right thing for their health.
