On Thursday, October 7th a group of MacLellan staff from one of our Alabama sites and their guests attended the Best Buddies Champion of the Year Gala. Grace Anne Maughan, Director of Mission Advancement shared the following after the event: "It was truly a night to remember! Together, we raised vital funds that will support and expand our programs right here in Alabama. Your contribution will directly impact those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and create inclusivity and empowerment throughout our communities." Thanks to our MacLellan team for showing up and supporting the event! "We're thrilled to announce our 2024 Top Champions of the Year, David Carter, Judd Trimm, and Jud Robinson, who raised over $34,995 throughout their campaign! Their dedication and passion truly embody our cause, motivating us to push the boundaries of our mission."

November 11th is Veterans Day in the United States and Remembrance Day in Canada, it is also celebrated in other countries across the globe. The day was originally known as Armistice Day and was designated to mark the end of World War I which officially ended at 11AM on the 11th Day of the 11th Month in 1918. Veterans Day and Remembrance Day is dedicated to the cause of world peace and is intended to honor those that have served honorably in the military in wartime or peacetime. We are very humbled that so many of our colleagues, and their family members, have proudly worn the uniforms of our countries. We are forever grateful for our Veterans and the honor and duty they courageously uphold. The red poppy seen below in one of the pictures, came to symbolize the blood shed by those who fought and those who continue to fight for freedom for our country. It is generally recognized as a symbol of remembrance and support for veterans and their families. On behalf of all of us at MacLellan, we say Thank You for your service!!!

MacLellan recognizes and awards academic excellence by providing scholarships for trade schools, community colleges and universities to students of MacLellan employees who meet the eligibility requirements of the program.  This is an amazing benefit to our +20 award recipients.  One student recently reached out with their appreciation of the scholarship, and we are so proud to have the opportunity to support our MacLellan team. Jesus was awarded the MacLellan scholarship in 2023 and recently wrote, "I was in Japan for the month of June 2024. This trip allowed me to not only complete part of my major but also further my understanding to complete my Japanese language and culture certification. As this was my second time in Japan, I’ve deepened my love for not just Japan but also Asian culture as a whole. This experience has not only helped me grow personally but has also helped me discover a passion that I will be forever grateful for." MacLellan's team in Arizona has partnered with the Valley Humane Society to support the kennel and the animals who reside there. This organization was chosen by our team who really wanted to support the animals. Our team cleaned food bowls, did laundry, swept the facility, provided baths for the animals, cleaned the large outdoor kennels, bottle fed kittens and disposed of all the trash and recycling for the facility. We had five people supporting this event and look forward to our next activity. #MacLellanVTO #ServingtheCommunity

Our MacLellan HVAC branch in Decatur, Alabama has been serving clients for over 10 years. It's a huge celebration, having built the business from the ground up. MacLellan has partnered with Habitat for Humanity since 2015. Over the years, MacLellan has donated over $30K and countless volunteer hours in an effort to support their mission to build affordable housing for people in need. In commemoration of 9/11, a group of 6 MacLellan employees, including 3 of our veterans, participated in a Habitat for Humanity project supporting a local Scott County veteran. MacLellan participants included: James Jeremiah, Tom Cain, Cassandra Bragg and the following veterans - David Ledbetter (TN Army National Guard - Corporal), Kelly Washler (AirForce - E3 (Crew Chief) Strategic Command /63rd Bombardment Wing), John Ridge (MSgt. - Retired US Air Force 34 years of honorable service). MacLellan attended BMW’s nationally recognized Supplier Diversity event this week, aligning with their mission to bridge the gap and drive innovation through educational seminars and intentional networking. BMW shares, "Our mission is to actively seek out and partner with a diverse range of suppliers that reflect our customers. We believe that supplier diversity is not just the right thing to do, but also a strategic imperative that drives innovation, reduces risk, and fosters economic growth for all". We welcomed many to our booth, including LJ Health Solutions, Filters for Industry, ABL Technic, Plastic Omnium, Wyoming Machine, Martinrea and many others. We enjoyed the day, meeting suppliers, customers, and forging potential new relationships. Thank you, BMW, for this opportunity. Preparing For the Next: Now that the dust has settled a bit, we’ve all been able to appreciate what an amazing Olympics took place in Paris. Victories, losses, and fighting to the finish allowed Olympians to display years of hard work on the biggest stage in the world. If that doesn’t sound nerve-wracking, I’m not sure what does. However, year after year, Games after Games, these athletes continue to put in countless hours of hard work and preparation, all for a brief moment of execution, and ultimately microscopic critique. At MacLellan, directors, managers, group leaders, and team members prepare all year for two specific events: July Shutdown and December Shutdown. Most contracts require thorough, efficient, and quality execution of countless tasks/line items during these shutdowns. It is expected that MacLellan Teams satisfy contract/customer expectations within shutdown timeframes, those of which typically last less than two weeks. Training, tenacity, and execution are crucial characteristics needed to perform well during these shutdowns. Eventually, though, the shutdowns end, a score is given, and preparation again becomes the greatest priority. July Shutdown has finished, and now MacLellan must prepare for December Shutdown. The 2024 Olympics have finished, and now Olympians must prepare for LA 2028. Trust, Integrity, Responsibility, Community, and Excellence will be at the forefront of training, hopefully leading to great successes, both for MacLellan and Olympians. #TeamMacLellan #TeamUSA
