We are officially in the season of correcting 2024 to 2025 on various documents by scratching out the "4" and replacing it with the "5". In case you missed it in the holiday rush, you can read our end of year blog here (https://lnkd.in/ebPh_EVB). SPOILER: It was a busy one.
What a year it has been - from April’s State of Possible Conference where we heard from Super Bowl champion and advocate Devin McCourty about our industry’s work on sickle cell disease to getting the call that the LSI would be fully funded for the next decade to hearing Joe and Courtney Dion speak about their two children with an ultrarare disease and how their The Dion Foundation has made a gene therapy clinical trial possible in the United States with Atamyo Therapeutics. MassBio appreciates the Legislature for their thoughtful approach to industry engagement and effective transparency through this legislation. Their approach seeks to strike the right balance between reasonable market oversight, especially through the licensing and regulation of pharmacy benefits managers (PBMs). We will continue to work with the Legislature in the coming session to make sure patient focused measures on affordability and access become law. https://lnkd.in/eD-k8ENF

Our last #FundingFriday of the year spotlights Portal's $7 million Seed Round led by IA Ventures. Since emerging from stealth a year ago, Portal has accumulated over 50 biopharma and academic partners leveraging the next generation mechanical delivery technology for applications ranging from novel drug screening assays to engineering cell therapies with circular RNA. We also celebrate the launch of Tasca Therapeutics, the first startup created out of Cure Ventures, with a $52M Series A round to develop small molecule inhibitors for multiple oncology indications. #MassBioMembers #PatientDriven
