Yet another great morning at 1 Million Cups Bentonville. Today we wrapped up Week 4 of 4 with entrepreneurs from the Greenhouse Outdoor Recreation Program (#GORP). Zach Springer with Open Access Bike Library, shared how they are  offering an affordable way to test e-bikes and promote a more sustainable environment. Jeffery Montgomery and Lily Raccasi with FireWatchAI, which is a veteran-owned company, focuses on building electronic systems that will speed-up the training time of first-time firearm owners while also increasing fun, accessibility, and overall proficiency of users in the field of modern marksmanship. Good morning to everyone in #NorthwestArkansas, #Arkansas and beyond. 1 Million Cups Bentonville did not meet today to allow our community members and our volunteer organizers to spend time with their families for the #Thanksgiving2024 holiday. We wanted to give #Thanks our volunteer organizers for all their efforts. Lots goes on behind the scenes to make our weekly meetings happen. From greetings our guests at the front door, to bringing the coffee, to making sure the screen turns on, to connecting the presentations, to setting up the sound, to running live video and of course passing the microphones around for Q & A, it isn't possible without those that show up week to week and make it happen. A new job title feels good for about 5 days. Seeing someone else succeed feels good for a lifetime. It happened to me. One of my direct reports had tried for 5 years to get a management role. They'd almost given up hope. We worked on their leadership skills in every 1-1. We got them some secondments to help get them more experience. Finally, another company saw their leadership potential and offered them a management role. They moved on and it was bitter sweet. I still remember this moment. Whereas I can't remember my own pay rises promotions, or job titles. Create an impact on the world. The rest is nonsense. <<<>>> ♻️ Repost this to help other aspiring leaders.

Had an #opportunity today to sit in on Startup Junkie 's lunch and learn held at the Fayetteville Public Library. Jeff Amerine, PMP hosted the session today "Building a Startup Ecosystem in Unexpected Places" where we learned how to discover strategies for nurturing a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in our communities. An informative session where if you're not already connected to the local #Startup ecosystem, you need to get involved. This was a great session held in part in celebrating Global Entrepreneur Week (#GEW) as sponsored by the Global Entrepreneurship Network and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Has been a great week interacting with many #startups and #entrepreneurs as well as many sessions held to promote #GEW2024. If you feel you missed out, don't!
