Here we grow! 🏢🏢🏢 Spokane, Washington is the newest addition to our growing list of office locations. This location marks our second office in Washington, bringing additional access to local experts with design and construction solutions tailored to meet your needs. #BecauseItMatters And while we’re on the subject… be on the lookout for two additional McMillen offices opening in early 2025! Any guesses as to where they might be?? Here’s a hint: Both cities sit along the Pacific coast, but if you’re heading from one to the other, you’ll need to swap your sunglasses for ski goggles. 🌴🍁 #WaterResources #Environmental #Engineering #Construction

Meet Anthony DeSantis, a McMillen mechanical engineer and Co-Lead of the Northwest Hydroelectric Association New Professionals Chapter! His leadership supports the next generation of hydropower leaders, and we couldn’t be prouder of his contribution. To promote continued learning and exposure to the many facets of hydropower, Anthony invited McMillen’s fish passage extraordinaire, Vincent Autier, to take a deep dive into the world of a fish passage engineer at this month’s chapter meeting. Anthony and Vincent’s commitment to industry development reflect our dedication to investing in both knowledge and the continued growth of hydropower. #BecauseItMatters We look forward to the positive impact of Anthony and the NWHA New Professionals Chapter on the future of hydropower! #StaffStandout #WaterResources #Environmental #Engineering #Construction

#RingTheBell for river and habitat restoration! In March of 2024, the President’s Budget request for Fiscal Year 2025 included $500 million for constructing a downstream fish passage facility at Howard A. Hanson Dam (HAHD) on the Green River. We are excited to announce that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, has retained the McMillen Team to lead the structural and mechanical design of the HAHD Fish Passage Facility—an incredible opportunity to provide biological connections to 100+ miles of prime salmon spawning habitat on the Green River! #BecauseItMatters 🏞️🐟 To complete this project, we are tackling exciting engineering challenges that will have a lasting impact on the ecosystem. Unique design elements include: ⚙️ Intake Structure – uniquely configured to act as a cofferdam during construction while providing a safe transition to the multiport collector horns 🐟 Multiport Collector – featuring five intake horns strategically crafted to capture fish at various water levels 🏔️ Steep Slope Bypass – to provide a safe and efficient route for fish downstream 🗼Control Tower – a 70-foot-tall, 5-story battlement to maintain seamless operations even during high water events The impact of this project extends far beyond salmon recovery; it plays a vital role in enhancing flood protection and ensuring clean drinking water for surrounding communities. By improving fish passage and supporting healthy ecosystems, we’re contributing to a sustainable future for both wildlife and local residents. #WaterResources #Environmental #Engineering #Construction #FishPassage #SalmonRecovery
