Meet Lauren Magnusson! Lauren is an Assistant Bioprocessing Project Manager at Merrick, where she loves collaborating with clients and teammates to bring innovative ideas to life. She works at the intersection of R&D and facility design for biotechnology and alternative protein projects, helping turn big ideas into real, impactful solutions! Lauren’s passion for sustainability and innovation drives her work. From advancing energy projects at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to helping create facilities that produce alternative proteins from fungi, Lauren is committed to making a positive difference for the environment and society. Excited for what’s ahead, Lauren looks forward to partnering with innovative startups and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in biotechnology. #merrickcareers

Eli’s journey from 2024 intern to full-time mechanical facilities engineer is a great example of the talent and passion fostered through Merrick’s annual summer internship program. During his internship with our nuclear team, Eli worked on critical tasks like designing glovebox ventilation systems. Now, as a full-time employee, he’s applying his skills to simulate heat loads, analyze shell temperatures, and support projects that advance nuclear energy and national security. Eli credits the smooth transition from intern to employee to his team’s unwavering support and mentorship, and when he’s not tackling complex engineering challenges, he enjoys working out, spending time with his dog, and taking on home improvement projects. #merrickcareers

The next chapter of clean energy is currently being written, and it involves a very special material called HALEU—high-assay low-enriched uranium. HALEU will be critical for powering future nuclear reactors, bringing safer, more efficient, and carbon-free energy solutions to our planet. While HALEU is still emerging commercially, Merrick is fully equipped to enter the arena. Our nuclear team combines deep expertise in integrated facility design, an NQA-1 program, and experience with highly complex nuclear projects. We’re uniquely positioned to help build the HALEU supply chain from the ground up—ensuring advanced reactors have the fuel they need to power a cleaner energy future.
