It was an honor--and a lot of fun--to moderate this excellent mining innovation panel at the 130th American Exploration & Mining Association annual conference with these fabulous innovators from Hecla, Maverick BioMetals, Newmont and NIOSH! Maverick's co-founder, Jesse Evans, explained a novel technology using proteins to extract metals. Dr. Roberto from Newmont is working with NREL to develop methods to sequester carbon in mine tailings. Dr. Luxbacher identified ways the industry can be even safer. And Matt Blattman encouraged us all to innovate, even if it means some of the experiments do not work out. #AEMA, #IAMMining, #MiningInnovation, #SquirePattonBoggs, #MaverickBioMetals, #Hecla, #Newmont, #NIOSHCDC.
