  • This week, students from INSEAD, one of the world’s leading business schools, are taking a closer look at clubfoot treatment in Nepal. 📍 🧑🏫 Following visits to clinics and interactive sessions with staff, the MBA students will help identify challenges and propose solutions to increase access to clubfoot treatment. We are grateful for this collaboration and for the thoughtful recommendations to help ensure quality care is available to more children across the globe. 🌏💫

Vanessa Kerry, MD MSc, thank you for speaking up on behalf of healthcare workers impacted by the #USAID funding freeze.   Slashing support for health workers is a short-sighted decision with devastating consequences. In #clubfoot care, trained providers (whether in Uganda, Tanzania, Liberia or so many other countries) mean the difference between a child walking or facing a lifetime of disability. Despite these challenges, MiracleFeet remains committed to supporting our global partners so they can continue providing life-changing clubfoot treatment.

Training health workers is a long-term investment that delivers lasting results - not just for patients and health systems, but also for economic growth, resilience, and security. Years of time and billions of dollars have been invested in creating such a skilled workforce, yet these efforts could be undone in days - our past investments wasted, jobs lost, economies broken, and families devastated. These aid cuts will cost far more in both the short and long term than what is claimed to be being “saved.” Decades of progress are being abruptly stalled, and rebuilding the workforce will take years. In the meantime, we will see devastating consequences for people’s livelihoods, economic growth, and ultimately, global security. Building strong and resilient health systems with a well-trained and skilled workforce is in everyone’s interest. The impact extends far beyond the health sector. We need sustainable financing to support both the current workforce and the next generation of health workers. https://lnkd.in/e-dYm_ws

  • As a father of a child born with clubfoot, Jealous knows first-hand the anguish and uncertainty a parent can feel after a clubfoot diagnosis. Jealous first learned about a peer-support program called "Ponseti Guides" when his daughter received clubfoot treatment from our partner, Zimbabwe Sustainable Clubfoot Program, in 2014. He attended a volunteer training and began counseling other families on treatment challenges, encouraging them to stick with all stages of treatment. Today, ten years later, he's a seasoned Ponseti Guide. 👐 Read how this father is supporting other clubfoot parents: https://lnkd.in/gFNTH7kH
