Just as we can wrongly assume that entrepreneurs have to do everything alone to be successful, we can wrongly assume that they don’t, or can’t, make any mistakes. But mistakes aren’t just an inevitable part of life—they’re a wonderful opportunity for growth. And as this intrepid First Lady so wisely pointed out, you don’t need to make all the mistakes yourself in order for them to be useful to you. I love sharing the stories of the business owners I work with not only to inspire others with their success, but to educate others with their missteps. When we share our losses as well as our wins, we can help to prevent others from experiencing the same losses we did—while providing some welcome reassurance that making mistakes is perfectly normal. What’s the mistake you made in your business that you want to help others avoid? We can all learn from each other and support each other in our growth. https://bit.ly/3MtO6K7

Find out why archetypes work in marketing, and get practical suggestions for implementing your brand archetype into your overall strategy. Strong branding taps deep into the audience’s mind—deep enough to strike their subconscious. And when it comes to tapping into the human subconscious, it’s best to take a page from one of the experts: Carl Jung. Jung identified 12 main character archetypes—images and themes that he believed were shared by all of humanity in our collective subconscious. And just as each person has an archetype they most relate to, you can align your brand with a particular archetype, which you can then use to connect more intimately with your audience. https://bit.ly/3HyJfWK #branding #brandarchetypes

If you’ve ever taken a psychology class, you may be familiar with Carl Jung and his theory of archetypes. But did you know his theories can serve as a branding tool for your business? Jung believed we subconsciously categorize our fellow humans in order to understand and predict their behavior. He identified twelve major archetypes, or personality types, that show up time and time again. We recognize these archetypes all the time in literature, film, and television, but they’ve recently made their way into marketing as well. Identifying your brand’s archetype can help you narrow your vision and fine-tune your marketing strategy. Take a look at the twelve archetypes described in our blog post, and see which one resonates with your brand the most. https://bit.ly/3mXg8nM

I was asked to give my thoughts on work-life balance in this recent article: As a business owner, there’s no clear division between life and work—they’re more intertwined, like a swirl, rather than neatly side-by-side. My approach has always been about managing that swirl. I imagine it as a two-flavor ice cream cone that I need to balance carefully, making sure neither side is ‘eaten’ too fast or too slow. Though I’ll admit, I tend to favor the work flavor a little too often, I have been working hard on smoothing out that swirl. https://lnkd.in/gZ-Vizta Metaphors aside, in real life, I’m a ‘cup’ person—I’ve made too many messes with cones, as my husband will attest. 🍦 Just for fun: if work-life balance were an ice cream swirl, what flavors would make up yours? My flavor in the comments.

Stepping out of my comfort zone here – I don’t usually share photos of myself or toot my own horn, but I’ve learned from helping my clients with their social media that people connect with authenticity. So, here I am, celebrating a kind comment a client shared with me on a recent call: “Thank you for what you do for us. Everyone in our business loves working with you, and we’ve never said that about working with a big agency.” There are endless options when it comes to choosing a design firm, and every time a business puts their trust in me, it’s an honor. Miss Details isn’t just a name – it’s me, supported by a team of incredible designers and writers. We take pride in giving personalized attention to each and every one of our clients, and quotes like this remind me why I love what I do. Thank you to our clients for trusting us and allowing us to be a part of your journey! #smallbusiness #branding #clientlove #designstudio #gratitude #authenticity #teamwork #detailsmatter
