#MAA was founded as a #grassroots #nonprofit by a group of parents who had had enough◾️Enough with being told by the #DoD that our children’s #autism therapy (applied behavior analysis services) wouldn’t be covered as a TRICARE basic benefit but would remain under study as a demonstration project◾️Enough with being told that to qualify for the demonstration and continue receiving ABA services, parents had to take a stress assessment every 6 months◾️Enough waiting for the DoD to recognize ABA services as an essential medical service just like all 50 states have already done◾️We took the first step in 2021 and formed MAA◾️What first step will you take to create #change? #MakeADifference #createchange #militaryfamily #missionalphaadvocacy #tricare #aba #acd #military

MAA'a 2024 In Review: - Several MAA team members provided testimony to the #NASEM committee with MAA board member, Gina Green, presenting 2x. - Our #CEO organized the #militaryfamily roundtable discussion in April for the NASEM committee. - Our CEO (she's a grassroots rockstar!) spoke at the #AutismLawSummit about the #ACD and our advocacy efforts. - Teammates attended the #ArmedForces Insurance Military Spouse Of the Year conference in Washington DC with an organized meet & greet with the Chairman of the House #ArmedServicesCommittee. - Hosted fellow #militaryspouses to meet with their congressional offices and gave #training on the basic steps to grassroots advocacy - Secured report language to replicate the #EFMP USMC report to all service branches showing the negative affects of the inadequate #ABA provider network on families and #readiness - Teammate Kat and Lizet represented MAA at the #ElizabethDoleNationalSummit. - Launched the #MAA Social Action Group on Facebook THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! #MissionAlphaAdvocacy #SpecialNeeds #Autism #advocacy #TRICARE #MilitaryFamily

As military families, we must travel to new duty stations every two years and our ever-changing lives can be hard on everyone in the family.
