As community members dedicated to supporting lost pets, it is crucial to recognize the limited availability of trapping volunteers. However, as a community member, you can play a vital role in assisting lost pet owners. By laying the necessary groundwork, you can ensure that when the time comes to deploy a trap, a trapper can efficiently capture the frightened pet and move on to the next pet in need. Trappers generously contribute their expertise, time, and efforts on a voluntary basis. They do not have the capacity to house stray pets whose owners are unknown. Nevertheless, by working together as a community, we can effectively support pets in distress. Join us to learn the fundamentals of trapping. You can contribute to expanding the knowledge and experience within our community. Together, we can build the next generation of skilled trappers.

We have been busy behind the scenes getting ready to roll out our new program initiatives for 2024. We are working to finalize our first purchases of microchips to distribute to Missouri and our metro Illinois animal control facilities. This is crucial in a time where our shelters and animal control facilities are over-burdened with the influx of incoming animals. We as a community can relieve this pressure cooker situation by ensuring pets are microchipped AND registered to their owners. The best part? The microchips will be FREE for our rural animal control facilities who are in much need of this help. Missouri Lost & Found Paws will also be holding pop up microchip clinics in the St Louis metro area. The cost? FREE. Why free? Our communities need immediate relief. The only way we can provide these programs is through raising funds to pay for the microchips. In the meanwhile, our Scanning Partners Across Missouri program continues! We are continuing to outfit rural animal control facilities with microchip scanners as well. Just three weeks ago, Aurora Animal Control reached out for help. They have added two new animal control officers. These officers need microchip scanners. Tomorrow is #GiveSTLDay. Our goal for this donation drive is $5000. The only way we can make this happen is to ask those who believe and support our mission to share the message with their friends and family. Share why YOU believe in our organization! Or, you can feel free to copy and paste this message. Your words will go a lot further, though! Please visit https://mtyc.co/0ysy5f to support Missouri Lost & Found Paws.
