Join us on Wednesday 5th March 7:00 – 8:30pm for the Working-Class Tea Party, Two Temple Place and hosted by us to celebrate Lives Less Ordinary. Gather with us for an engaging evening filled with tea and (broken) biscuits. This is not just a casual get-together; it’s an opportunity to openly discuss class issues in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. At this unique event, you’ll gather at or around the table with facilitators and fellow attendees, where everyone is invited to ask questions and share their experiences, or simply listen and absorb the insights —every voice is valued, and everyone is welcome! Don’t miss out on this chance to connect, converse, and contribute to meaningful discussions. We can’t wait to see you there! Please note, tickets must be booked in advance and are limited – https://lnkd.in/etWRaFcn PLEASE: If you have booked a ticket and can no longer attend, please let us know so we can offer your place to another.

Lives Less Ordinary is on now until 20 April. Whilst it shouldn't be a rarity, it feels so special to see a show of work entirely from working class artists. Go and see! It's free! https://lnkd.in/eqeCXH2N

https://lnkd.in/gqD4kv95 Museum as Muck, a network for working-class art practitioners, said: “Government funding for cultural institutions should remain independent from the influence of wealthy benefactors. Relying on additional funds from the affluent can skew the priorities of these institutions, granting undue influence on a select few.” Lanre Bakare

We cannot wait to start working with Birmingham Museums Trust! Stay tuned for updates 👀
Such a great session at Birmingham Museums Trust this morning at our staff briefing. Was great to hear from Museum as Muck and the incredible work they are doing to get more people from low socioeconomic back grounds properly represented in the culture and heritage world. I know from my own experiences, sometimes I sit in a room with such accomplished people talking about so many amazing things thinking “how did I end up here all the way from Kenny”. It’s so interesting to think about what organisations like ours can do to make sure the spaces we work reflect the communities we serve. I’m really looking forward to working with them in the future and learning more about how we can all make a positive difference together! 🚀
