The Liverpool City Region's MusicFutures cluster (£6.75m) will: Support musicians and small businesses in adopting new technologies Explore sustainable solutions for live music Unite key partners including universities and @Royal Liverpool Philharmonic As our Chief Executive Tom Kiehl notes: "Providing MusicFutures with this funding boost means the music industry will at last have an opportunity to really get to grips with these crucial debates, helping support positive future outcomes for the sector in Liverpool and beyond." 🎶 Exciting news for the Liverpool City Region! 🎶 The University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University together with 21 strategic partners including ACC Liverpool, Adlib, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, have been awarded £6.75M from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) (UK Research and Innovation) to launch MusicFutures—a new Creative Cluster aimed at strengthening the region’s global reputation for music innovation. Set to launch in 2025, MusicFutures will focus on R&D, talent development, and business growth while helping the UK music industry tackle key challenges, including emerging technologies like AI and advancing environmental sustainability.
