#NEWVENUEALERT: Calling all EVENT PLANNERS and VENUE MANAGERS, you must see this classic location, completely REFRESHED; as well as their options for your off-site events and venues! The iconic Murray's Cheese will be hosting NACE NYC: National Association for Catering & Events in their gorgeous space, The Leroy Room in a couple of weeks. You really must see this venue, as the images don't do it the justice it deserves. This event will feature their stunning speakeasy-style venue, The Leroy Room. They will be serving various catering offerings, as well as an open wine bar for all guests. We will have an educational focus on this tasty gathering while having one of their cheese professionals teach us a quick class about the cheeses on the catering boards and how to pair them like a pro! They will also have a mozzarella pulling station that will be active, YUM! This way, our guests can watch one of their talented mongers pull fresh mozzarella and then taste it, paired with prosciutto and tomatoes! How could you go wrong!? If you are a member of #NACE, an event planner, or a venue manager, reach out for more information on this fantastic event. NACE members receive a nice discount on tickets, just ask for the promotional code! #nycevents #uniquevenues #nonprofitorganizations

ATTENTION JOB SEEKERS: Check your SPAM folders often if you are actively applying for a role. Sadly, emails are not 100% guaranteed to be delivered and seen. HIRING MANAGERS: Make sure to follow up with candidates, NOT ONLY via email, to ensure that they received your request to meet! LESSON: Unfortunately, too many folks tend to assume since an email was sent, it must have been received and read. With all that GMAIL and Apple are doing to update their inboxes, and filtering systems, you can no longer assume anything!

I just attended an event with 3,000 event planners. 12 ideas and trends: I was at Connect Marketplace. This event mixes the legacy Connect audience with the Bizbash crowd, now under the Informa umbrella. I met many Informa employees, and I can tell the event is stepping up its game. IMEX  and IBTM should watch out. Here is what I loved: The Regception This is the first time I have seen a registration area become a party. Food, drinks, local suppliers from a sponsor. I want that at every event I attend. High Business This event is about connection (the name says it); they have an exciting twist on the hosted buyer model. The buyer has a table, and the suppliers switch to visit them. Meetings last 9 minutes for blocks of a few hours, and on average, there are 30/35 meetings connected via the app. Light Content When the meetings ended, the content started to give every attendee a chance not to miss out. This also helped to pack the sessions. I had one of the best audiences I’ve ever presented to. Microevents If you read my content in the newsletter (link on top of my profile), you know how excited I am about microevents. CMPs had a dedicated breakfast with bingo and networking. First-timers had their orientation session, which included games and facilitated networking. This session was overflowing (cater for first-timers!). Wellness to connect Events are not gyms. But wellness is critical to connecting attendees. The 5K, the pickleball courts, and the booths with wellness lounges created a sense of camaraderie, tough to get when only your brain is involved. Keep an eye on Connect.  Everybody I talked to was happy about the value they got out of the event. It is a must-attend/must-exhibit if you are in the industry. I hope you enjoy the video below with 12 ideas to steal. These videos require an incredible effort, and I hope you can support us in doing more by sharing it with your network.

Last week, TwoFortyThirty co-hosted an insightful panel discussion, "The Secret Sauce of Sustainable Menus," alongside the NYC Office of the Mayor of Food Policy; MUSE (Members United for Sustainable Events); Thomas Preti Events to Savor; City Roots Hospitality; and Greener by Default. The event was a success, offering valuable insights into plant-forward menu engineering and its benefits for guests, the planet, and businesses. Neeti Jain expertly moderated the panel discussion, guiding engaging conversations with top voices in sustainability like Chef Guy Vaknin, Chef Christopher Tonti, Michele Fox, and Stefanie Lynch. Attendees learned about the current shifts occurring, new market products, non-vegan patrons enjoying vegan food, increased profitability in hospitality, areas for improvement, and the deliciousness of sustainable menu creations. If you missed this enriching event and want to be part of future discussions, drop a comment to express your interest and tell the City of New York now. Stay tuned for more exciting opportunities coming your way soon! Photo Credits by the one and only, Michele Illuzzi; thank you!!
