Rover MĪTI Takes on Norway – A Journey of Innovation and Collaboration We’re excited to share that Rover Miti recently ventured into the rugged landscapes of Norway, putting our cutting‐edge integration work into action. During the trip, Eric Waters from NAL Research Corporation demonstrated our commitment to advancing R&D on ground vehicles. In this case the MĪTI was equipped with a pan/zoom/tilt camera and live video streaming feed over satellite for applications such as perimeter security of facilities and encampments in harsh arctic environments. At the Arctic Warrior event, Eric had the opportunity to showcase how our integration efforts are transforming how we approach vehicle control systems. NAL was testing their QuickNav product that can be used for command & control (C2) of autonomous vehicles and capable of interfacing with PixHawk and other autopilots. The video streaming demo utilized their SkyLink product which is capable of C2 and video streaming over low-bandwidth satellite links using the onboard Videosoft compression software. The test event was a great demonstration of the potential use cases of the MĪTI utilizing robust radio and satellite links for command/control options when operating the vehicle Beyond Line of Site (BLOS). The various armed forces at the event were impressed with the potential of such a small and relatively inexpensive vehicle for their use in perimeter security, and the experience underscored that innovation is not just confined to the lab but thrives in the field with our industry partners.
