As we end 2024, I'm thrilled to celebrate another incredible year of sleep research and innovation at Nanit! Here's a glimpse into some of our key achievements: New research collaborations: We began new collaborations on three NIH-funded research studies and two NSF-funded studies. Research publications: We co-authored peer-reviewed manuscripts and presented over 20 abstracts at national and international conferences. Connecting with the community: We hosted our annual Nanit Lab symposium with 7 of our phenomenal research collaborators presenting new findings! It fostered valuable discussions and conversations within the sleep research community. Expanded Sleep Schedule Generator: We're proud to have relaunched our popular Sleep Schedule Generator, now supporting children from 3 months to 4 years old! This empowers parents with a personalized roadmap to healthy sleep habits. Sharing Our Expertise: We've contributed to important conversations around sleep with panel discussions at Health Tech Forward in Barcelona, with the Guardian in London, and with The Friends of New York City Nurse-Family Partnership in New York, as well as through media features in outlets like Sleepopolis, Well + Good, Saatva, Yahoo! Lifestyle, Newsweek, and ABC7NY, reaching a wide audience of parents and experts. These are just a few highlights! We're incredibly grateful for the dedication of our research team and the ongoing support of our partners. Here's to continued sleep innovation in 2025!

  • As 2024 comes to a close, we’re proud to reflect on a year of innovation, learning, and community growth. At Nanit, our mission is to empower parents with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to thrive—and this year, so many of you helped us take that mission to new heights. ✨ Here’s what we achieved together: 🫂 COMMUNITY IMPACT We brought parents and experts together through 35 virtual events, covering everything from sleep science to conscious parenting, and even the future of AI in parenting. 🧑🏫 EDUCATION + RESOURCES 12,825 custom sleep and feeding schedules generated with our updated Sleep Schedule Generator. 💙 PHILANTHROPY + PARTNERSHIPS We donated 17,500 Sleep Wear items to support families in need through partnerships with Saving Mothers and Baby2Baby. Together, we’re making sure every child—and parent—has access to the essentials. 🧬 NANIT LAB: ADVANCING PARENTING SCIENCE Our research team published 2 groundbreaking studies and presented 11 abstracts on topics like: The surprising role of white noise in improving sleep (52 extra minutes per night on average). The link between consistent bedtimes and better sleep (babies with varied bedtimes slept 30 minutes less). How shared caregiving leads to moms getting an extra 40 minutes of sleep per night. 📊 USER INSIGHTS Nanit babies slept with an average efficiency of 92%. Parents logged 543,394 Care Log activities to keep their routines on track. Moms and dads were nearly equal in their parenting engagement—moms checked memories 1.6x per week vs. 1.5x for dads. 🏆 PRODUCT MILESTONES 32 industry awards for our monitor and Sound + Light features. 9 customizable notification options to make parenting smarter and easier. 6,728 five-star reviews—a testament to the love from our community. 👓 LOOKING AHEAD TO 2025 Nanit is creating the new way to experience parenthood, but our focus remains the same: arming parents with solutions to celebrate the little wins, navigate challenges, and capture every precious memory. • Grandparents, this one’s for you! 💙

Caring for grandchildren could actually help grandparents live longer! 👴 If you were looking for some data to help encourage your parents to help out with your kids, look no further! Here are some findings from the Berlin Aging Study. Researchers followed seniors over 20 years, and guess what they found? Grandparents who helped with childcare had mortality rates that were 37% lower than grandparents who did not. So yes, those sweet (and busy and crazy!) moments with grandkids might actually add years to their lives! When your parents spend time with their grandkids, they’re staying active, socially engaged, and it can reduce stress - which are all crucial for healthy aging. We see active grandparents over at Nanit too. About 10% of Nanit users are grandparents. We know they love Nanit because it’s helping them to stay connected to the family from wherever they are. With Nanit, grandparents can pitch in and still feel supportive—whether it’s checking on the baby’s sleep or catching those sweet memories in the app. So over this holiday season, feel free to encourage your parents to help out with your kids! You will not only be giving yourself a break but might be helping your parents too! PS: if giving your parents or in-laws access to your Nanit makes you a little uneasy… don’t worry! You can remove or add them whenever you’d like in your app.

From a personal chef to a fun day out, we polled the Nanit team on their dream gifts this holiday season. (Hint: more spa days!) We asked our own Nanit parents - the day-in, day-out heroes working tirelessly on a mission of empowering all parents with data-fueled sleep and care solutions - on what they most wanted this holiday season. Overwhelmingly and perhaps unsurprisingly, it’s not a nice new pair of shoes, but more time in the day, more cooks in the kitchen (literally) and more moments of pure relaxation. Who can relate? Big thanks to Kayla Klein, Quynh Dang, Amit Kumar, Stephanie Mirch, Laura T. and Melanie Bond for sharing their wishlists!

Director of Product at Pinterest. Harvard MBA. Sharing insights for ambitious women.

The hardest part of early parenting isn’t the sleepless nights. It’s the constant, relentless change. One day, your baby’s snug in a swaddle. The next, they’re rolling, and you’re scrambling for a sleep sack. Then it’s introducing solids. Switching to a sippy cup. Dropping naps. Preschool. Potty training. Welcoming a sibling. Moving to a big kid bed. The transitions feel endless because they are. And every change comes with its own mountain of stress. We read books, scroll forums, and brace for what might go wrong. The mental load is heavy, and the fear of messing things up makes it heavier. But here’s what I’ve learned: the hardest part is almost always the worrying. It’s the overthinking, the fear of shaking up what’s already working. And yet, every time, it somehow works out. Recently, we moved our kids into the same room. This time, I didn’t read the books or didn’t map out a strategy. I just hyped it up for our toddler and crossed my fingers. To my surprise, it went smoother than I could’ve imagined. So I’m learning to trust myself more. Because every change, no matter how overwhelming, eventually falls into place. What your kids need most is your belief that they’re ready, even when you’re not sure you are. __ Follow me Tamara Hinckley for insights for ambitious women.

This Giving Tuesday, Nanit is proud to partner with Baby2Baby, a nonprofit dedicated to providing children in need with essentials like clothing, diapers, and more. Through their Disaster Relief and Emergency Response Program, Baby2Baby is helping families recover after disasters by providing the necessities they need to rebuild. At Nanit, we’re inspired by the impact of supporting families in times of need. Whether it’s assisting a family like Lauren’s after losing their belongings in a hurricane or contributing to Baby2Baby’s ongoing efforts, we are committed to making a tangible difference for those facing hardship. For every Sleep Wear item purchased, Nanit will donate an additional sleeper to support families in need through Baby2Baby’s programs. We continue to be inspired by the incredible work Baby2Baby does to support families in challenging circumstances, and we’re honored to stand with them to make a meaningful difference. #GivingTuesday #Baby2Baby #CommunityImpact #SocialGood #Nanit
