🌍✨ In the days following #WorldAIDSDay, we reflect on the lives impacted by HIV/AIDS and the progress made toward ending the epidemic. This Sunday, NASTAD staff joined public health leaders at the White House to represent officials administering HIV programs nationwide. Together, we celebrated key advancements in the fight against HIV. 📢 Major news: On Sunday, President Biden announced that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will update the Recommendations for Future Guidance to State Medicaid Programs on HIV Prevention, Care, and Treatment Services. #EndHIVEpidemic #HIVPrevention #PrEP #Medicare

In 2023, 54% of new HIV infections among U.S. women occurred in Black women. Yet, Black women represent less than 15% of the U.S. female population. 🌍 This World AIDS Day 2024, we join countries and communities around the globe in calling for action: Take the Rights Path. UNAIDS new report, "Take the Rights Path", makes it clear: States can end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030—if everyone’s rights are protected. When rights are protected, health is protected. Together, with human rights at the center and communities in the lead, we can ensure sustainable progress.
