Calling upon 5 translators, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Spanish, and English, we were able to celebrate the renovation of Evening Star in Houston Texas after receiving a 2022 9% award of competitive low income housing tax credits from The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. Through the HUD RAD for PRAC conversion and leveraged with tax credits, this 62 unit senior property was able to complete a $5.6M million makeover thanks to our equity syndicator Enterprise Community Partners and our LIHTC investor and Lender Bank OZK. We are also grateful to our construction partners Alliance Architects, Inc. and Whitestone Construction Corp. in renovating Evening Star. These moments remind us why we do what we do: to not just provide housing but foster vibrant, connected communities where residents thrive. We celebrated the renovation of Tejas Cove in Bay City, Texas after receiving a 2022 9% award of competitive low income housing tax credits from The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. Tejas Cove, 61 units of senior housing, was a HUD RAD for PRAC conversion, which combined with tax credits, allowed us to preserve this community for many years to come. We were able to deliver a $5M million makeover in collaboration with our equity partner National Equity Fund, Inc. and our Lender Mercy Community Capital. We are also grateful to our construction partners Alliance Architects, Inc. and Precision Reconstruction Group for their hard work in making Tejas Cove an even more welcoming place for residents to call home—a testament to what’s possible when dedication meets collaboration.
