A recent subject matter exchange with the Royal Thai Army marked Washington National Guard Sgt. William Johnston’s first experience with the State Partnership Program, but it wasn’t the first for his family. His father, Retired Col. William Johnston, served as Washington's program director from 2008 to 2013. “I’ve always heard about the SPP program from my father, and I jumped at the opportunity when it was offered by leadership,” said Johnston. “Combining my passion for traveling with the chance to work alongside foreign counterparts is incredibly rewarding.” #NationalGuard #StatePartnershipProgram #Partners
