  • Co-Development Opportunity Alert! 🚨 We are seeking a dedicated REDD+ partner to collaborate on an exciting project in Argentina, aimed at addressing the severe deforestation threats in the Chaco region. Over 80,000 acres are at risk in an area that has already lost over 5 million acres of forest in the past 30 years. Our organization is building a diverse portfolio of projects worldwide, including Improved Forest Management (IFM), Soil Agriculture, Afforestation/Reforestation (A/R), Biochar, and Rice Cultivation. We are actively looking for a REDD+ partner to help preserve this incredible landscape and support sustainable development. Why Act Now? The Chaco Region is at a Critical Juncture: Biodiversity at Risk: Deforestation is endangering unique species and ecosystems. Climate Impact: Increased deforestation contributes significantly to global carbon emissions. Community Effects: Local communities face increased vulnerability due to resource loss and environmental degradation. Join us in making a difference! 🌍 #REDDPlus #Conservation #Sustainability #ClimateAction Credit to Mongabay and Reuters for these amazing images

  • The National Indian Carbon Coalition Co-Benefits tool is leading edge for indigenous communities across the US access key data points to make informed decisions regarding potential NBS/NCS/Restoration projects. We look forward to sharing more about the great work with NICC and our First 30x30 initaitive, supporting indigenous communities all across North America.

Nature-based climate solutions can offer a variety of benefits outside of carbon sequestration! By scaling access to resources through carbon revenue, local communities can grow educational programs and continue to grow their curriculum. Investing in education can increase opportunities for young workers to get involved in forestry, resource management, and other local positions which can continue to improve forest stewardship.

  • We had an amazing time with the IISAAK OLAM Foundation team back in May forming the basis of the First 30x30 partnership. We were honored to be able to experience the beautiful lands of the to the Nuu-chah-nulth [Nuučaan̓uɫ] Territory (Tofino, BC on Vancouver Island). I look forward to inviting many of your program collaborators and supporters to come experience reconciliation and conservation in action.

Back in May, First 30x30 was just getting started. Jeffrey Brown Ⓥ (Nature Focus) travelled with Robin Barr and Steven Nitah (Nature For Justice) to the the haḥuułi (traditional territories) of the ƛaɁuukwiatḥ ḥaw̓iiḥ (Tla-o-qui-aht hereditary chiefs) (Tofino, BC on Vancouver Island) to meet with the IISAAK OLAM Foundation and discuss a potential partnership. Since then, we have been honored and inspired to have Isabel Simons, Eli Enns, Monica Shore and the rest of the IOF team as a core partner of First 30x30. Their expertise and leadership in Indigenous-led conservation has added a critical lens to the program and we couldn't be happier. Here is a photo of Jeffrey, Robin, and Steven after a walk through the rainforest on the IOF Clayoquot Campus (credit to Owen Perry).
