Congratulations to the Nevada Clean Energy Fund (NCEF) and the Walker River Paiute Tribe on a substantial $20 million federal award! 🎉 Pursuing resources and building partnerships like this takes dedication, a deep commitment to the communities served, and the ability to navigate complex processes. But the outcome is tremendous: these projects will improve water, energy, and food infrastructure— all of which is vital for the long-term sustainability and resilience of the Walker River Paiute Tribe. 🎉 #FederalGrantVictory 🎉 Huge congratulations to Southern Nevada Building Trades Unions (SNBTU) for securing a $716,701 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) program! This grant will support SNBTU and its partners, UA Local 525 Plumbers, Pipefitters, and Service Technicians, and Teamsters Local 631, as they expand their 19 registered apprenticeship programs (RAPs) to meet the growing demand for building trades workers in Southern Nevada. 👷♀️👷♂️ The focus will be on creating opportunities for women from underrepresented groups, increasing the number of women in apprenticeship programs, and positioning them to secure high-paying careers in the building trades. This investment will help create a more diverse and inclusive workforce in Southern Nevada’s skilled trades industry. Kudos to SNBTU for their commitment to workforce development and gender equity in the trades! #FederalGrantVictory #WorkforceDevelopment

This is a testament to the dedication of local leaders, community organizations, and advocates working together to make our communities stronger and more inclusive. "Every young Nevadan deserves a roof over their head—that’s why I worked to help secure these funds that will give Southern Nevada organizations the tools they need to provide safe housing and essential services for at-risk youth like education and employment assistance," Sen. 🎉 Huge congratulations to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas on securing a $397,807 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime! 🎉 This funding will support critical efforts to: ✅ Enhance faculty and staff knowledge on trauma-informed responses to interpersonal violence ✅ Improve access to culturally responsive, confidential victim services ✅ Launch a Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT) to streamline victim services ✅ Develop and implement a mandatory prevention education curriculum Thank you for pursuing major resources to bolster the support and protection of students.🌟 #FederalGrantVictory
