NJCEDV is filled with gratitude and joy! Our team and board came together for an end of year luncheon to reflect on the challenges and triumphs of the past year. We are deeply grateful for this passionate group of leaders and are excited for all that 2025 has in store! A heartfelt thank you to our incredible supporter, the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Nu Nu Chapter. What began as an Evening of Celebration sponsorship has grown into an ongoing tradition of support. This year, their generous donation will allow survivors to purchase food and gifts for their families. Thank you from all of us at NJCEDV! One of our amazing Coalition team members has a work anniversary in December! #WorkAnniversary Cierra Hart (she/her) has been with the Coalition for 5 years! As Director of Housing and Economic Justice she leads NJCEDV’s housing and economic justice efforts, with special attention to coordinating outreach and support for organizations that serve historically marginalized populations. Cierra has been crucial in the start and implementation of the Domestic Violence Housing First Project, which has helped many survivors. Thank you, Cierra, for all you do!

Self-care is essential for domestic violence advocates to maintain well-being and prevent burnout. The emotional demands of the work can be overwhelming, but by incorporating stress-reduction strategies, advocates can better navigate its challenges and continue supporting survivors. The NJCEDV team recently participated in a transformative retreat led by Purvi Shah from the NYC Collaborative for Restoring Healing and Transforming Communities. Purvi’s guidance created a space for healing, reflection, and renewal through anti-violence advocacy and artistic expression. The retreat focused on wellness and connection, with moments of joy like blowing bubbles and workshops that inspired fresh ideas for 2025. NJCEDV is deeply grateful to Purvi and everyone who made this impactful experience possible, helping the team grow and recommit to their mission of ending violence and oppression. 💜 [ID: A carousel of 5 images, with the first showing the full NJCEDV team and the other four featuring various staff members blowing bubbles outside.]
