The New York State Caregiving & Respite Coalition, NYSCRC, is a partnership of dedicated organizations and individuals committed to supporting the millions of our state's family caregivers. NYSCRC members understand the unique needs of caregivers. Through training and education, we focus on increasing caregivers' access to respite resources. And, we speak with a unified voice to gain the attention of policymakers for the needs of family caregivers.

The Caregiver Simulation is designed to create an environment that includes the many challenges and rewards of being an informal caregiver. The outcome for participants is a new or renewed sense of empathy for the enormous role informal caregivers take on, and the systems which are designed to support them. New York State Office for the Aging and New York State Caregiving and Respite Coalition are working together to pilot a Regional Caregiver Wellness and Respite Center (CWRC) to strengthen New York’s Lifespan Respite Care System. The CWRC aims to expand service provisions and delivery to caregivers in a six-county region (Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Warren, & Washington). The purpose of this survey is to better understand the gaps in needed services for caregivers as compared to our previous needs assessment. The survey should take about five minutes to complete. This survey targets Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Washington, Warren and Hamilton counties. The realities of being a family or informal caregiver in rural counties are unique, and the solutions need to improve their lives.
