Thursday at Inter-noise 2024 For the first time the Inter-noise continued for a fourth day thanks to the amazing number of technical presentations on #acoustics, #vibration, and #noisecontrol. After a full morning Adrien Pelat invited the entire congress team on stage for a well deserved thanks from the attendees. Planning is already underway for the 2025 Inter-noise in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Davi Akkerman and Carolina Rodrigues Alves Monteiro invited us all to attend and hosted the after party with great food and Brazilian music. We all had a wonderful time in Nantes and congratulate the organizers again for an outstanding Inter-noise.

Noise Control Engineering Journal Top 20: Number 16 - Allard and Champoux's paper on In situ two #microphone technique for the measurement of the #acoustic surface impedance of materials Did you know that any NCEJ paper 10 years and older is free to download? (look for the blue 'F' button at https://lnkd.in/giCHNShw). We continue counting down the top 20 most cited NCEJ papers. Number 16 shows you how to measure acoustic surface impedance of materials using two microphones (https://lnkd.in/emjF-6AU). Of course, INCE-USA members and any member of an I-INCE society may download *any* article, along with papers from all Noise-Con and Inter-Noise conferences. Check the INCE publications website (https://lnkd.in/e2cvu8Di) for details. Interested in publishing your work in NCEJ? Jim Thompson is always accepting new submissions.

Eric Ungar's Acoustics from A to Z: C - Criteria CRITERIA for floor vibration Or sound (that is, air oscillation) Depend on what is really needed; Intended usage m ust be heeded. If set too tight, there’s undue cost; If set too loose, there’s function lost. Eric Ungar published his amazing Acoustics from A to Z in 2001 covering many topics in #acoustics, #vibration, and #noisecontrol and we're pleased to offer them again in Noise News International. Here's the third installment. Each letter/topic has a cartoon, a short poem, and a longer discussion. Read the full article at: https://lnkd.in/eR_vfWHh Want to learn more about Eric?
