Our teams have been feeling extra cheerful with our company holiday parties. At NTG Holiday parties, each office has the opportunity to recognize employees going above and beyond for the year. This year we recognized 2024 Broker of the Year, 2024 Operations of the Year and 2024 Rhino of the Year in each office. Any US importers need to be aware of the 2025 dates impacting ports. This year, we anticipate an even greater volume surge on top of the Lunar Year due to shippers frontloading ahead of the potential ILA strike and expected tariffs to be implemented soon after January 20th. Many overseas ports will shut down for the holiday. After the return to work, it takes roughly 4 to 6 weeks for operations to return to normal.   Key Dates: - January 15, 2025: US ILA contract expiration. A strike could again close US East Coast & Gulf Coast Ports  - January 29, 2025: Start of Lunar New Year celebrations. Ports and factories will mostly be closed for two weeks in various Asian countries, including China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and more. - February 12, 2025: End of Lunar New Year celebrations. Ports and factories will return to work.

At our customer event last month, Drew Herpich, our CCO mentioned key trends relative to capacity and the shocks we have seen with hurricanes and strikes. Net revocations remain a key data point we measure as we look at demand and capacity within the freight market. Over the last few months, we have seen some spikes in demand, but capacity continues to exit the market.
