A nonprofit organization committed to preserving and building our non-GMO food supply.
About us
The Non-GMO Project is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to building and protecting a non-GMO food supply. We do this through consumer education and outreach programs; marketing support provided to Non-GMO Project Verified brands; and training resources and merchandising materials provided to retailers. Non-GMO Project Verified remains the market leader for GMO avoidance and one of the fastest growing labels in the retail sector. We offer North America’s most trusted third-party verification for non-GMO products. The Non-GMO Project Standard is a consensus-based document crafted with the insight from dozens of industry experts, reflecting a dynamic range of perspectives. In a world of shifting technologies, the Standard remains current and collaborative through ongoing public comment periods. Because of this collaboration with engaged stakeholder groups, Non-GMO Project Verified is a meaningful and achievable way for suppliers, brands and retailers to show their commitment to providing consumers transparent choice in the marketplace.

This year, to honor Native American Heritage Month, we were grateful to be able to make donations to the Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance the Nooksack Indian Tribe, and the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center. These donations are but a small step in the larger journey of reparations with Indigenous communities, and we will keep living into this work all year long. Today is an excellent time to honor those who came before us. Additional native-led organizations you can donate to: • NĀTIFS.org • Intertribal Agriculture Council • Indigenous Literacy Foundation • Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network • UPPER SNAKE RIVER TRIBES FOUNDATION INC • Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe • Potlatch Fund • NA'AH ILLAHEE FUND • Your local area tribe #nativeamericanheritageday 🧡🤲

“Our markets exist because many consumers in European countries and in North America do not want GMOs in their food. The task now is to find solutions to keep new GMOs out of our supply chains" 🌱 - ENGA Secretary General Heike Moldenhauer features in the The Organic & Non-GMO Report in an article about the Non-GMO Summit. It highlights the Summit's success and the positive message coming from the event, encapsulated by Alexander Hissting of VLOG - Food without Genetic Engineering's comments: "Non-GMO markets are economically very successful and are thriving with strong support from consumers. We are ready and willing to face current political and market challenges....The non-GMO sector is here to stay!” 💪 The article also mentions the ongoing collaboration between ENGA and the Non-GMO Project, based in the USA 🇺🇸, which is now a supporting member of ENGA. “This creates a real sense of commitment, and we are very proud to have our first non-European member!” said Heike Moldenhauer. "In recognition that the story of the first Thanksgiving perpetuates an inaccurate and harmful version of history, food co-ops across the country are making a collective donation to North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems (NĀTIFS) this November. Food co-ops will donate $0.05 for every Field Day product sold during this promotion." - National Co+op Grocers This is an inspiring example of equity in action. Why USDA Conservation Programs Matter 🌱 (from our friends at Mad Agriculture). USDA conservation programs are critical for advancing regenerative agriculture across the U.S. By supporting practices like no-till farming, pollinator habitats, and water management, these programs help farmers protect natural resources while enhancing the long-term resilience of their land. However, the demand for conservation funding exceeds availability, with only 30-35% of farmer applications being accepted. It’s clear—there is a need to protect and expand these essential programs in the upcoming #FarmBill. Learn more about the farmers who have been impacted by conservation funding across the country. These nine stories produced by Mad Agriculture along with key data visualizations show the impact of USDA programs and how they’re shaping the future of regenerative farming ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g2_aYbdx #FarmBill #CultivatingConservation
