2024 was a year of breakthroughs and connection for the National Council of Nonprofits and the charitable nonprofits we serve. Through each season of the past year, we have worked to champion, inform, and connect the nonprofits that make our communities thrive. Together, we’ve achieved tremendous victories in 2024 for charitable nonprofits. We advocated for landmark changes to federal grantmaking, promoted access to historic pandemic relief funding, and provided new tools to help them access the resources they need. Looking ahead, the challenges facing nonprofits are formidable. Workforce shortages, rising service demands, and the attempted politicization of nonprofits are just a few of the obstacles that have and will continue to impact the sector. Scruffy is a recent Foster Dog from The Franklin County Dog Shelter. He was a young stray that had been hit by a car, shattering his pelvis and femur. He is finishing his medical journey, and is a wonderful pet! The Franklin County Dog Shelter (Ohio) offers a full suite of services to the pets in the community, from Adoption, Fostering, Lost & Found and Neutering/Spaying. Their mission is to balance the welfare and safety needs of the citizens and dogs in Franklin County (Ohio). They are dedicated to providing responsible enforcement of dog laws in our community, compassionate treatment of the dogs in our shelter, and on-going education for our citizens. Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center is committed to saving lives. This shelter is the largest county shelter in Ohio. Last year they took in 9,819 dogs and puppies, including all stray dogs in the county as well as owner surrenders and unwanted litters of puppies. Please consider helping them this holiday - your donation, of any amount, is greatly appreciated and allows them to purchase additional life saving supplies that directly benefit the dogs there. Donated funds can also be used to support additional services for dog owners within our community such as; low cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, microchips and other assistances needed for those who may be experiencing financial difficulties. https://lnkd.in/e4y4YAsd
