✨ I'm going to say it again: "We need more women in the C-Suite"✨ This belief is central to my updated Chief of Staff Manifesto—and I want to thank Maggie Olson for her incredible insights and data that inspired the revised 'Diversity and Inclusion' section. Here’s the reality: 📉 72% of C-Suite roles are held by men. 📉 91% of CEOs are male. And yet, the research is undeniable: 💡 Women consistently outperform men in 17 of 19 leadership effectiveness competencies. 💡 Traits like empathy, adaptability, authenticity, and collaboration are critical in today’s world—and women excel in all of them. But the data also shows we’re not moving fast enough—or consistently enough—toward a balanced, equitable future. That’s where the #ChiefofStaff role comes in. The #CoS is uniquely positioned to offer the EXPOSURE women need to step into high-level leadership: 👉 Exposure to decision-making. 👉 Exposure to prioritization and delegation. 👉 Exposure to company leadership. The Chief of Staff role serves as an entry point, a stepping stone, and—often—the final stop before the C-Suite. It’s a launchpad for transformational leaders, and women are perfectly positioned to excel in these roles. I’ve updated my manifesto to dive deeper into this topic and highlight how the CoS role can be leveraged to foster diversity and drive meaningful change in organizations. 💡 Why it matters: Diversity and inclusion are not just ideals; they are imperatives for building thriving, innovative organizations.
