📌 Policy update: On 5/11 the Council formally adopted a revised EU #directive on #urban #wastewater treatment, which extends the scope to smaller agglomerations, covers more #pollutants, including #micropollutants, and contributes to #energy #neutrality. The directive will be published in the Official Journal of the EU and Member States will have 31 months to transpose it into their national legislations. ESNI Conference 2024 – ‘Growing the future of nutrient recycling’ 🌱♻️ This annual #event that we co-organize unites experts in #nutrient recycling, promoting #collaboration among European stakeholders. Participants will share valuable experiences and identify #knowledge gaps to shape future #research in nutrient #recycling. 🌍🔬 On Wednesday 19th September, the NOVAFERT project performs the parallel session 1: 👉 Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) of alternative fertilising products: presentation of NOVAFERT‘s methodological proposal. 🕓 11.00h – 12.30h Our center is a partner of this project, which develops sustainable methods for using alternative fertilizers made from nutrients recovered from waste, aiming to replace synthetic fertilizers. 🚜🌾 It involves mapping existing alternatives, creating green business models, and developing supportive policies.
