That is an important distinction because our personality is subject to interpretation by others who apply their own values when judging our behavior, which is often wrong. Because our behavior is strongly influenced by our learned values, our personality reflects the biases we acquire through our life experiences. This sets up a natural tendency by others to misinterpret our intentions. It happens all the time. Ntrinsx provides a more accurate portrayal of one’s intentions because it establishes a basis for relationships based on intrinsic values, which are independent of learned biases.   • I recall Ken and Bill literally at each other's melting point in a recent group meeting making everyone uncomfortable. In turn, that set a highly unproductive environment for the work day and Ken and Bill never resolved their conflict. Work can impact mental health just as much as physical health. Work disagreements if handled respectfully are healthy and necessary for high performance and productivity.     For decades, companies have been spending an incredible amount of time and money on engagement and engagement surveys to no avail. Don't take my word for it, look at the research.
