NUARI recently conducted a series of cybersecurity incident response exercises in support of the DoD Senior Military College Cyber Institutes. Students from Norwich University, Virginia Tech, and The Citadel participated in simulated scenarios, responding to advanced persistent threats (APTs) targeting a company. They applied theoretical knowledge in a dynamic setting, following a mock Incident Response Plan (IRP). The exercises aimed to: ◾ Enhance incident response capabilities ◾ Develop key work-role skills ◾ Foster effective communication and collaboration ◾ Improve readiness for real-world cybersecurity incidents By participating in these exercises, students gained valuable experience in cybersecurity incident response, preparing them for future careers in the field. They delivered three impactful National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium courses: ◾ Practical Internet of Things Security ◾ Cybersecurity Resiliency in Industrial Control Systems ◾ Cybersecurity Risk Awareness for Officials and Senior Management For nearly two decades, Norwich University and NUARI have proudly partnered with the NCPC to develop and deliver vital cybersecurity training. Funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security/FEMA, these courses are offered at no cost to State, Local, Territorial, and Tribal entities. This collaboration covers five key areas: awareness, coordination and planning, cyber incident response and recovery, infrastructure technical training, and cyber threat information sharing.
