Give the gift of freedom from violence this holiday season. 💜 Giving Tuesday is just one week away! We’re inviting you to join us in reaching our year-end goals so we can continue helping individuals find safety and healing from domestic violence in 2025. Please keep NWAWS in mind as you plan your year-end giving. Together, we can create a future free from violence in NWA. Thank you for your support!

Our mission is to provide shelter and support at any hour for those affected by domestic violence in our community.
About us
The Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter provides free emergency shelter, food, and clothing to victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. We provide a free 24-hour crisis phone line and services to clients. We also offer court advocacy, Spanish bilingual services, children’s advocacy and programming, community education, support groups, counseling, and a volunteer program. We also provide longer-term support for abuse survivors through our outreach (non-residential) and rehousing programs. Domestic violence does not discriminate; therefore, our clients are from across all demographics in terms of age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, and educational background. We assist any person who meets the criteria for emergency intervention and assistance due to domestic violence or sexual assault.

Seasons of Giving is Walmart's Associate Giving Match program and you can double your impact as a Walmart associate until November 30. Walmart will match any Associate giving to nonprofits this month with a 1:1 match. Please consider making a charitable donation to NWAWS during this month if you are a Walmart employee. Allow us to introduce you to Dr. John & Susan Baker. Over the years, these two kind and generous souls have donated thousands of bras and pairs of underwear valued at over $450,000 to NWAWS and other organizations in our community. By providing these often overlooked items, the Bakers have ensured that women & children enduring hardships in Northwest Arkansas have the necessary items they need to begin their healing journeys and build a new life free from violence. We are so grateful to the Bakers and people like them in this amazing community who allow us to do the important work of supporting survivors. Thank you! 💜

Huge thank you to the team of volunteers from SC Johnson who helped us start to get the shelter ready to welcome survivors back. We aren’t quite there yet, but the help was much needed and MUCH appreciated! We are eagerly anticipating being back in our space and will keep you updated as to when that might be. Heartfelt thanks again to our board member Cynthia Torix and all the volunteers from SC Johnson for giving their time and energy.
