Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is celebrating 22 projects across 17 states that voluntarily shared with DOE that they received a total of nearly $1 billion in allocations from the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit (48C). Of these projects, nine indicated they are located in 48C energy communities – communities with closed coal mines or coal plants—showcasing the Biden Administration’s commitment to investing in America’s energy communities.  The projects disclosed today illustrate key step to improve the nation’s energy security and economic and industrial competitiveness, while creating high-quality jobs across the country, and build on historic levels of private sector investments in the United States, bringing manufacturing back to America after decades of offshoring, and creating good-paying clean energy jobs—including union jobs—across the nation. America's economic and national security interests depend on maintaining the energy system’s stability, affordability, and independence from foreign influence. The newly released Supply Chain Readiness Level framework is set to assess readiness and risks in key #energy #supplychains, informing investment and #policymaking to increase U.S. #energysecurity and enhance competitiveness. Today, we’re announcing $6B in allocations for the second round of the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Tax Credit (§ 48C Program) funded through the Inflation Reduction Act. The second round of tax credits will support over 140 projects across more than 30 states that manufacture critical energy products, materials and minerals, or reduce GHG emissions.
