So how did University of Minnesota chemistry major Chayeng Moua land a part-time gig as the Open Textbook Library’s (OTL) student assistant? His critical thinking skills and keen eye for detail were part of it, for sure. But we tend to think it’s his passion for open textbooks that makes him excel at creating new records for the library, more than 300 at last count. 📚 Chayeng demonstrates one way that students can play a meaningful role in making open educational resources available to all. “…academics face significant problems in identifying good OER textbooks,” writes William H. Walters, Executive Director of the Library at Manhattan University . He attributes this, in part, to the low quality of online #OER directories. His recent study of OER textbook directories provides comparative information and identifies three as “especially useful”: B.C.
