When disaster strikes, our incredible pitmasters and dedicated volunteers rally together from all corners of the country to provide hot BBQ meals to affected residents, first responders, and relief workers. In 2024, our disaster response team delivered over 1.5 million meals. While supporting communities across the Southeast impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, we also reached an incredible milestone—providing our 12 millionth meal since 2011! 🎄🎅 Spreading Holiday Cheer in Appalachia This weekend was nothing short of amazing. With the help of our incredible partners Mercury One, Inc. Mountaire Farms, and Tracy Lawrence's Mission Possible, Operation BBQ Relief brought BBQ and Christmas magic to both North Carolina and Tennessee, two areas still picking up the pieces after Hurricane Helene. Thanks to Lowe's Home Improvement in Elizabethton and @Walmart in Kingsport, we served 2,000 BBQ meals in Tennessee. Huge shoutout to Blue Rhino and Ferrellgas for fueling these events. From BBQ chicken to glazed ham and green beans to roasted carrots, more than 5,000 plates were made with love and served with hope. What makes moments like these truly special? Our volunteers. They show up time and again, giving their most precious gift—their time—so people know they’re not forgotten. Some even traveled to both North Carolina and Tennessee to make sure holiday cheer was shared far and wide. We can’t thank them enough for their kindness and heart. To all our partners, volunteers, and the amazing communities who welcomed us back like family this weekend: thank you. 🎄🎅 Savage Santa Holiday Bash: A Day to Remember! We were proud to partner with Savage Freedoms Relief Operations , who spearheaded this incredible event, alongside A Hand From Above - Hurricane Disaster Relief - Flying/Hiking Heroes , Mercury One, and Mountaire Farms to bring much needed holiday cheer and support to Burnsville, N.C., and surrounding communities still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Despite the cold and windy weather, East Yancey Middle School was filled with warmth, laughter, and joy as we served thousands of BBQ meals, including BBQ chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes. The holiday spirit shone brightly as Santa and even the Grinch joined in the festivities! Families were treated to more than 250 donated bikes, games, toys, winter coats and more, ensuring everyone went home with full hearts—and full bellies. We’re grateful to Savage Freedoms Relief Operations for leading this extraordinary effort and to the Burnsville community for coming together to make this day unforgettable. Together, we brought hope, joy, and comfort to those in need this holiday season.

This past Saturday in Landover, Md., we fired up the grills at the Horse Soldier Bourbon and Travis Manion Foundation Army vs. Navy tailgates, serving 4,000 meals to Military, Veterans, Families of Fallen Heroes, and their supporters. It was a privilege to give back to those who have served and sacrificed for our nation, while bringing people together through the Healing Power of BBQ. Operation BBQ Relief is proud to partner with Savage Freedoms Relief Operations, A Hand From Above, and Mountaire Farms to bring holiday cheer and thousands of meals to families in Burnsville, N.C. and surrounding areas through the Savage Santa Holiday Bash this Friday, Dec. 20, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST. Held at East Yancey Middle School, this free community event will not only provide hot BBQ meals but also hope and joy to families in need this holiday season. The highlight of the day will be at 4 p.m., when Santa makes a grand entrance by helicopter, dropping gifts for children and families who have faced loss or hardship this year.
