Congratulations William Verduzco, our Maintenance Employee of the Month in November. William’s vast knowledge of OCTA’s bus systems was critical to achieving a positive outcome in a California Highway Patrol terminal inspection.

Congratulations Alicia Gonzalez, our Coach Operator of the Month in November. Alicia achieved 12 years of safe driving and is a model OCTA coach operator through her delivery of safe, courteous and reliable service.

OCTA welcomes Anaheim Councilmember Carlos Leon to the OCTA Board of Directors. Director Leon will serve as one of 17 board members who help guide transportation policy and continue to improve transit, streets and freeways for the future of Orange County.

OCTA Chair Tam T. Nguyen shares highlights from today’s board meeting, recognizing three employees of the month for November and providing updates on OCTA's ongoing efforts to help the environment with 50 new zero-emission buses #OrangeCounty.

OCTA Chair Tam T. Nguyen and CEO Darrell Johnson kicked off OCTA’s first internal multicultural celebration on November 19. The fun event brought employees together for an exploration of different cultures and interests that recognize the agency’s diverse workforce. OCTA continuously augments its efforts to embed diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging into everything it does, and sustains a workplace that embraces these principles.

Today, OCTA held its Annual Bus and Maintenance Roadeo Competition at the Santa Ana Bus Base. More than 20 employees from operations, maintenance, and administration, as well as OCTA Director Patrick Harper, participated in driving and maintenance challenges. They showcased their skills by navigating difficult courses that emphasize safe driving and tackling mechanical repairs under pressure. The top-performing bus driver and maintenance teams will go on to represent OCTA at the American Public Transportation Association's Regional and International Roadeo in 2025.

The OCTA Board approved the Measure M Next 10 Delivery Plan, showing how OCTA will continue delivering improvements to transit, freeways, streets and the environment for the next decade. The plan calls for investing approximately $5.6 billion to improve transportation in Orange County. Learn more at octa.net/next10.

OCTA was proud today to honor the approximately 67 military veterans who work at the agency as drivers, maintenance workers and in operations. Their hard work, dedication and continuing service to the public help keep Orange County moving. OCTA has been recognized as a military-friendly employer and continues to value the contributions of veterans. #VeteransDay

OCTA joins other Southern California transportation agencies in extending appreciation to the California State Transportation Agency and Secretary Toks Omishakin for committing to a State-led study to plan future investments for the long-term resiliency of the LOSSAN rail corridor.
