  • Lest we forget.

🎖️ Yesterday afternoon, 32 of Southfield’s CCF Navy Cadets and 7 officers proudly represented the school in a moving Act of Remembrance parade. Today, the entire school came together for our annual Remembrance assembly, standing in solemn silence at 11am to honour those who served. Our talented sixth formers Eleanor, Izzy, Emma, and Imani gave powerful poetry readings, while Poppy in Year 9 played beautiful renditions of The Last Post and Reveille. We concluded the ceremony with a wreath laid by our headteacher and head student at the school memorial. 🌺 Thank you to everyone involved for making this a fitting tribute. #remembranceday2024

We are in awe of the good people of Orbis Education Trust who is currently doing a fundraiser for The Never Alone Project. Hiking coast to coast for a gruelling 84 miles this weekend, along Hadrian’s wall. They have already raised over 30% of their target, which is just amazing. We hope they are getting good rest in tonight, and that tomorrow goes well. So proud to work with people of this calibre. Good luck, all! https://lnkd.in/e2JuC6Uk?

  • Very well done to our pupils and teachers!

Southfield School students have been celebrating their GCSE results.   Southfield School is proud to recognise the hard work and perseverance of our Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE and vocational results. In the context of national standards returning to those seen in 2019 we are exceptionally proud of the achievements of all our students which have paved the way for them to pursue further studies, apprenticeships, and other future endeavours.   Headteacher, Scott Nevett, remarked; “We are extremely proud of this year group’s achievements, given the many challenges they have faced during their secondary school career. Both students and staff at the school have worked incredibly hard to achieve the successes we have seen today and we would like to thank parents/carers for their invaluable support throughout. We were delighted to welcome back the majority of our students into our sixth form and wish those moving onto a new destination all the best for the future.” Southfield School’s outstanding sixth form continues to offer an excellent environment for learning, with state-of-the-art facilities including a café, lecture theatre, and various social and study spaces. There are still spaces available, and we encourage interested external students to contact us at admissions@southfieldsch.co.uk

  • Great work from our Southfield team. Well done!

Southfield School Celebrates Outstanding A Level and Vocational Qualification Results in 2024 Southfield School wants to congratulate the 2024 leavers on their excellent and hard-fought set of A Level and vocational results, which come on the back of a great deal of hard work and dedication from students and staff, alongside the invaluable support and encouragement from parents/carers. Our students have shown remarkable resilience and adaptability during this crucial stage of their school career. We are thrilled that the grades our students have achieved have enabled the overwhelming majority to progress to their first choice of post-18 destinations, including university, apprenticeships and employment. We are particularly proud that several of our students have attained the highest grades at A Level and will be pursuing their chosen subjects, notably in law and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), at some of the leading universities in the country and even as far as the USA. Equally, we celebrate those students who have exceeded their expectations and are now moving on to their chosen next steps. Headteacher, Scott Nevett, commented; "Our students and staff have worked tirelessly over the past two years, enabling this cohort to achieve a great set of results and access to their chosen destinations. This hard work, determination and positive approach to learning are deserving of celebration and reflect our ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED judgement for our sixth form. We wish all of our students every success as they embark on new challenges and look forward to hearing of their future endeavours."

  • Orbis Education Trust currently has a Main Board vacancy for a Non-Executive Director/Trustee. This is an exciting time to join us as the Trust prepares to expand from the current two secondary schools in Northamptonshire (Kingsthorpe College and Southfield School), on to the opening of a new 'Free School' in Kettering and the formation of a Primary education division. The position is a voluntary post which provides excellent Board level experience along with the chance to influence the development of young people, and guide our incredible teaching and support teams. We are particularly interested to hear from people with a background in: Law, Sports/Leisure, Food/Catering, Media/the Arts, and Medicine. The time commitment for NEDs is 7 meetings a year made up of the AGM, Board meetings and Committee meetings. For further information please e-mail Miss. H. • An excellent initiative with proven positive results.

157 Southfield School, Kettering Year 11s and 30 staff are now on their way to Whitemoor Lakes Activity & Training Centre in Staffordshire for our annual 4 day revision/activity weekend. This will be the ninth year that we have run this activity and each year, the majority of our students claim that this was one of the most successful activities in boosting their GCSE results in the core subjects. Students also comment on how much fun they had and the lasting memories they created whilst there. As part of our new Academy Trust and our ongoing collaboration with other schools, Kingsthorpe College and Moulton School & Science College will also be sending some of their students on the trip. Have a good time everyone and #ReachYourFullPotential
