Sustain High Achievement, Explore the World We Live In, Transform Life Opportunities

About us

Soke Education Trust is a Primary School MAT which formed in 2018 involving Werrington Primary School, Wittering Primary School, John Clare Primary School and Gunthorpe Primary School. The Trust welcomed Northborough Primary School who joined in September 2019. In September 2023, Soke Education Trust merged with the Alderman Jacobs School Academy Trust. The Trust continues to seek out opportunities to work in partnership with other local schools sharing a similar vision. The Trust’s principal values of integrity, kindness and equity ensure a moral leadership which places our learners at the centre of everything that we do. Our vision is to ensure that we allow children to Sustain high achievement, Explore the world we live in and Transform life opportunities. We achieve our vision through collaboration, shared approaches and the sharing of good practice and innovation. Each Academy is led by the Headteacher and Local Governance Committee to drive opportunity and school improvement. Whilst shared approaches provide opportunities for implementing an evidence based curriculum, consistent assessment and monitoring activities and financial efficiencies, each school retains its own identity so that it can meet the needs of its community and its unique context. We recognise the vast array of positive qualities and strengths within each of our schools. Working together and drawing upon this wealth of talent ensures that we provide the very best learning opportunities and enrichment for our pupils. Our Trustees play a pivotal role in ensuring all aspects of Trust work positively enhances outcomes and opportunities for all pupils, providing support and leadership across the Trust to maintain the highest regulatory expectations.

  • A great session at our Headteacher Network. Our meetings always have a specific focus and leadership activity and an opportunity for peers to work as critical friends on key areas of school improvement. This month we looked at the Teacher Wellbeing chapter and Working with Teaching Assistants from the Teachers Handbook for SEND by NASEN. A really useful document for ensuring QFT for all as well as SEND provision. It's a booklet we love and don't is promoted nearly enough! • As we progress through this academic year, I am pleased to share another great opportunity colleagues have experienced within our Trust. Recently, I conducted a SET UP session for our Early Career Teachers from across the Trust, focusing on the essential aspect of making effective use of data in our schools. This interactive session provided a comprehensive overview of educational data, equipping our ECTs with practical skills and insights. We examined the various roles of data in our educational framework, including how it can describe pupil attainment, identify learning gaps, predict future progress, and inform planning strategies. Everyone engaged actively with the session’s content, which addressed the rationale behind target setting, progress tracking, and teacher assessment processes. Through hands-on activities using Insight Tracking reports, they gained experience in analysing attainment and progress data. It was fantastic to see the level of engagement from everyone as they asked pertinent questions and contributed to discussions. They demonstrated an understanding of the importance of data literacy in their professional development and its potential impact on pupil outcomes. As the session concluded, it was evident that our ECTs were leaving with valuable insights that would enhance their ability to make informed decisions, tailor their teaching approaches, and better support our pupils' learning journeys. I am proud of our ECTs’ commitment to their professional growth and their willingness to embrace new tools and methodologies. Their dedication reinforces our Trust's focus on continuous improvement in education. Elaine Crane Director of Education

  • Incredibly proud of our fabulous leaders, who have been collaborating on ways to make sure we are implementing excellent provision and practice across our Trust. The way that leaders work together in such an open way, without competition or negativity is truly brilliant and a great strength of our organisation.

  • We were delighted to spend a morning in the ITT department at ARU Peterborough. We really enjoyed exploring the amazing facilities, meeting some of the ITT staff and being part of one of the sessions. We had some fabulous conversations with ITT students who have recently finished their first ITAP and were so impressed with their knowledge of current research and thoughts on early reading and phonics. With such thoughtful and committed trainees we left incredibly hopeful for the future of teaching and excited that some of these amazing people may be working in our schools again soon. Thank you Karen Tozer & Lauren Cox (Kirk) for your time and for letting us observe your sessions.
